Wiped Off The Map

Shocking satellite images have revealed the destructive aftermath of weeks of Israeli airstrikes on neighbourhoods in the Gaza Strip.

The photographs, provided by Reuters, reveal the true scales of the destruction the Israeli Defence Force’s (IDF) airstrikes have caused in Beit Hanoun and Atatra in the Northern Gaza Strip.

Prior to the bombing, large apartment buildings, homes, roads and the green of suburban trees and plots of land could be seen dotting the countryside.

However, a considerably different scene is the reality in these neighbourhoods now, as the ruthless bombing has laid destruction to much of what stood before.

Many of the photos reveal a dusty wasteland with crumbling structures and debris scattered all around.

The IDF suspects Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists were hiding in many of these neighbourhoods.

The Israeli Airforce has been striking targets, many of which include weapons depots and Hamas tunnels, since the beginning of the war on October 7.

Meanwhile, the United Nations said that nowhere was safe in Gaza amid Israel’s bombing.

Lynn Hastings, the UN humanitarian coordinator for the occupied Palestinian territory, said in a statement that nowhere was safe in Gaza.

She said that when the evacuation routes are bombed when people north as well as south are caught up in hostilities, when the essentials for survival are lacking, and when there are no assurances for return, people are left with nothing but impossible choices.

Reportedly more than 7,000 people have been killed in Gaza since the beginning of the war.

So far, the total of 7,028 deaths includes 2,913 children, the Hamas-run health ministry said.

Yesterday the ministry reported 6,546 deaths, including 2,704 children.

Joe Biden said he had ‘no confidence in the number that the Palestinians are using’, although he didn’t explain why.

The Council on American Islamic Relations said it was ‘deeply disturbed’ by his comments and called on the President to apologise.

Executive director Nihad Awad said that journalists had confirmed the high number of casualties and countless videos coming out of Gaza every day showing mangled bodies of Palestinian women and children.

It’s so sad that a so-called modern society would sink this low and have such a heinous disregard for human life. Sadly there are no rules in war, and it’s shocking that such a religious nation can do this to innocent people, including children and babies.

I don’t condone war of any kind. We all need to live together in peace, not bits and pieces. Do what you need to bring peace to Palestine, Israel, whatever you want to call it. It’s land, you can’t take it with you when you die. It’s there for you to nurture so that future generations can live on it in harmony, not devastation.

The Palestinians and Israelis need their heads banging together. You have lived on it for millions of years and some of that was peaceful, so why can’t you just stop all this fighting?

So, what was Israel called before 1947? Palestine of course, but a majority of biblical archaeologists deciphered a bunch of hieroglyphs as ‘Israel’, the first instance of the the name in the record. Under the British Mandate (1920-1948), the whole region was known as ‘Palestine’.

Why on earth would one human being want to kill another human being, well for one, greed, and of course land. Hasn’t there been enough war, enough killing? Perhaps like animals, once they got blood on their hands they started to relish the kill!

My vision on life is pretty broad, therefore I like to address specific subjects that intrigue me. Therefore I really appreciate the world of politics, though I have no actual views on who I will vote for, that I will not tell you, so please do not ask! I am like an observation station when it comes to writing, and I simply take the news and make it my own. I have no expectations, I simply love to write, and I know this seems really odd, but I don't get paid for it, I really like what I do and since I am never under any pressure, I constantly find that I write much better, rather than being blanketed under masses of paperwork and articles that I am on a deadline to complete. The chances are, that whilst all other journalists are out there, ripping their hair out, attempting to get their articles completed, I'm simply rambling along at my convenience creating my perfect piece. I guess it must look pretty unpleasant to some of you that I work for nothing, perhaps even brutal. Perhaps I have an obvious disregard for authority, I have no idea, but I would sooner be working for myself, than under somebody else, excuse the pun! Small I maybe, but substantial I will become, eventually. My desk is the most chaotic mess, though surprisingly I know where everything is, and I think that I would be quite unsuited for a desk job. My views on matters vary and I am extremely open-minded to the stuff that I write about, but what I write about is the truth and getting it out there, because the people must be acquainted. Though I am quite entertained by what goes on in the world. My spotlight is mostly to do with politics, though I do write other material as well, but it's essentially politics that I am involved in, and I tend to concentrate my attention on that, however, information is essential. If you have information the possibilities are endless because you are only limited by your own imagination...
