Hugh Grant Donates £20,000 To Burnley Plumber Who Says It Will Save Lives

Hugh Grant and his wife Anna have donated £20,000 to Burnley plumber James Anderson.

Burnley plumber James Anderson has been dubbed Britain’s kindest plumber. He set up Depher, which stands for Disabled and Elderly, Plumbing and Heating Emergency Response, in 2017.

The community interest company provides work free of charge for people who are struggling with the cost of living crisis, and since 2017, Depher has helped more than half a million people all over the country but counts on donations from members of the public.

Now, Hollywood actor Hugh Grant and his wife Anna have donated £20,000 to Depher, as a Christmas gift.

James Anderson said this was a wonderful and humbling donation of £20,000 that would give hope to thousands of people, families and children, especially with the cost of living crisis, and he said that they both have his lifetime of respect and love.

Hugh Grant and Anna Eberstein, who have been in Manchester for the Chanel fashion show, have donated tens of thousands of pounds to Depher in the past.

James Anderson said that the latest support brought the total of money they’ve donated to £75,000.

James Anderson should be honoured for the incredible work that he does for the aged and vulnerable. However, it’s sad that our Government are doing nothing to support these people in despairing need. Well done James, you’re a real gentleman and a message to Rishi Sunak, this gentleman should be recognised in the New Year’s honours list because he deserves recognition, although I doubt that Rishi Sunak will read my article. Perhaps people should write to him at Downing Street instead.

Honest people who deserve to be on the honours list should be on there, not people with grandiloquent titles who have cash dribbling out of their noses.

This is a fantastic Christmas story and how good of Hugh Grant and his wife to have donated the money for such a good cause. However, there are numerous performers out there who could have financed this much-needed project long-term and scarcely noticed a dip in their bank account.

I love hearing stories like this – honest people supporting others, out of the kindness of their hearts. Hugh Grant and his wife are true gems and this story indeed restored my faith in humanity.

James Anderson is an amazing man and he helps people who are in very dire straights, from the young to the elderly. It’s such a lovely act of generosity from Hugh Grant and his wife, and this isn’t the first time he’s donated to Depher. Our country needs more people like Hugh Grant and his wife, and shame on those celebs who haven’t dug deep into their pockets to help out!
