The UK’s schools have stopped using the Anne Frank Trust’s educational programmes because of “community tensions” resulting from the conflict between Israel and Palestine.
Three schools have reportedly delayed their academic curricula since Hamas began its terror strikes against Israel on October 7, according to the charity.
Nine- to fifteen-year-olds are taught about Anne Frank, the Holocaust, prejudice, and antisemitism by the trust.
In 2023, the Anne Frank Trust worked with 119,000 youths in more than 800 schools around the United Kingdom.
Despite the three schools quitting since the conflict began, according to chief executive Tim Robertson, the total number of participants has grown since this time last year.
In response to October 7, he informed the Jewish Chronicle that the organisation had not seen the need to significantly alter its curriculum; nonetheless, “we’ve provided extra training and support for our staff.”
In the aftermath of the attacks, he added, ’emphasis was placed on some key elements of Anne Frank’s story,’ like her sister Margot’s longing to relocate to British Palestine and the fact that Anne’s best friend Hannah Goslar, who survived Bergen Belsen, rebuilt her life in Israel.
The foundation also declared today that the first Royal Patron of the Anne Frank Trust UK is none other than Her Majesty The Queen, who was formerly HRH The Duchess of Cornwall.
Anne Frank and her family hid for two years in a secret annexe to the canalside house after the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands during World War II, but were captured in a raid in 1944.
Anne and her sister died in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in 1945, but her diary, found by her father Otto, became one of the most haunting accounts of the Holocaust, selling some 30 million copies.
“The brutal attacks carried out by Hamas on October 7 marked the deadliest day in Jewish history since the Holocaust,” a representative for the Campaign Against Antisemitism stated. Antisemitism has increased by an astounding 1,350 per cent since then.
‘Surely the answer to the rampant antisemitism that we are seeing is to teach more about the perils of Jew hate, not less.
‘This should not be controversial, and if there are safety concerns, the response must be to confront those, not to avoid the subject for fear of offending those who don’t want children to learn why it’s wrong to hate Jews.’
According to the Anne Frank Trust, 73 per cent of young people make ‘significant’ progress in their knowledge about prejudice following its workshops.
This is a disgrace, and the importance of history is being lost. The efforts to deny the Holocaust seem to be working. What happened in World War II is now history, but everyone should understand what took place so that there isn’t a repeat of it.
The terrorists win again.
Anne Frank (Annelies Marie Frank) was 16 years old when she died.
I’ve never been to the camps before and actually wouldn’t.
The Frank family fled into refuge in the Prinsengracht 263 building on 6 July 1942. Otto Frank’s firm was situated in that building. Fritz Pfeffer and the Van Pels family later joined them. The main house and the annexe were the two components of the construction. The upper stories of the annexe were where the eight individuals hid.
The annexe was deserted and abandoned when Otto Frank became the last survivor of Auschwitz in June 1945. Otto requested that the Anne Frank House’s annexe remain unoccupied even after the museum opened its doors in 1960.
Fritz Pfeffer and Anne had to share a room, which frequently resulted in disputes. It was difficult for her to remain indoors all the time. Her diary served as a venting outlet. Anne hung photos on the wall to make the space seem brighter.
‘Thanks to Father, who had brought my whole collection of picture postcards and movie stars here beforehand, I have been able to treat the walls with a pot of glue and a brush and so turn the entire room into one big picture.’

We should never forget what happened in the Holocaust, because to forget the past is to dishonour the memory of those who perished in the concentration camps.
Those who perished didn’t even have the dignity of a grave. They only have us, and without us, who will remember not only their tragic fate but also the vibrancy of their lives?
Those who deny that the Holocaust even existed. What did the war emerge from thin air?
Genocide against Jews and everyone else not of Aryan descent was committed during the Holocaust.
We must never forget the six million Jewish women, men, and children and all the other victims, among them hundreds of thousands of Roma, murdered during the Holocaust.
For evil to flourish, it only required men to do nothing, and it seems evil is flourishing.
There were many World War II soldiers. It appears that their sacrifice was in vain, and I’m very relieved that they are no longer with us to witness the current situation.
There is no longer any bravery to oppose evil. Everything is woke this and woke that; the school should be ashamed for taking this into consideration, and the government should be ashamed for allowing it.
