Three unidentified shooters are still at large after they pursued, shot, and injured an 11-year-old kid on a major Atlanta roadway.
Officers said they arrived at the scene at around 6.15 pm on January 15 and found the boy suffering from two gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital.
City police have released surveillance footage of the shocking incident in the hopes of identifying the trio.
The footage shows the boy, who has not been named, looking furtively over his shoulder as he sprints through a parking lot close to Martin Luther King Drive in northwest Atlanta.
The scene then shifts to a split roadway, where three males are seen crossing quickly before starting to run.
The suspects approach the parking lot before seeming to spot the boy, who had tried to hide beside a laundromat and tyre shop.
Each one pulls out a handgun, and they open fire several times in his direction.
A car swerves away from them amid the commotion, and moments later all three men rapidly retreat before dashing back across the dual carriageway.
The culprits were identified as “three black males” by the Atlanta Police Department, who also posted the footage and urged anybody with information to get in touch.
In the video, all three are decked out in black hooded jackets, dark pants, and white trainers.

There were 2,687 occurrences of violent assault, 61 rapes, and about 133 killings reported in Georgia city last year.
The number of felony crimes registered in 2022 was 3,192 occurrences of aggravated assault, 122 rapes, and 171 killings, which was a 17 per cent decrease from the previous year.

This was probably not a random shooting. It appears like they were trying to settle a score.
This boy was 11 years old. The fact that they would have had a score to settle with him would be tragic.
Whoever shot this child didn’t hesitate; they just did it without thinking or caring.
These are people who are undeterred by the law, the possession of illegal firearms, their age and licencing requirements, or the threat of prison time. It’s so sad what society has become. The poor child hasn’t been given a great start in life.
However, this isn’t even remotely shocking. It’s what America has become. Seriously, who’s birthing these demons? This is outrageous. I can remember when kids, women, and old people were off-limits. Dark times we now live in.
