Last night, Michael Gove took the lead in criticising a housing association that banned Ian Austin, a former Labour MP, the chairman for making an offensive social media remark about Hamas terrorists.
The Midland Heart housing association, located in Birmingham, said that Lord Austin had been banned due to a comment he posted on X labelling Hamas as “Islamist murderers and rapists.”
The peer has since removed the post, expressed regret, and made it clear that it was a reference to the activities of the terrorist organisation Hamas in Gaza.
However, Midland Heart officials have announced that they will reconvene in two weeks to talk about Lord Austin’s dismissal from the board.
Levelling Up Secretary Mr Gove said he would be demanding an ‘urgent meeting’ and an explanation over the decision, adding that Lord Austin was a ‘champion for affordable housing’ who had ‘spent his career fighting racism’.
In his post, Lord Austin said, ‘Everyone, better safe than sorry: before you go to bed, nip down and check you haven’t inadvertently got a death cult of Islamist murderers and rapists running their operations downstairs. It’s easily done.’
He wrote this after the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine refugees claimed it had been unaware that an operations centre used by Hamas terrorists was built directly under its office in war-torn Gaza.
Midland Heart chief executive Glenn Harris said Lord Austin had damaged the association’s reputation and angered its staff.
Lord Austin said: ‘I am shocked this has happened as a result of politically motivated bullies orchestrating a malicious campaign to smear me by misinterpreting comments and trying to undermine a lifetime’s work fighting racism.’
Heart CEO Glen Harris said Lord Austin had damaged the association’s reputation and angered its staff. Easy solution: sack Harris and the angered staff; they’re not employed to whine. Lord Austin made one classic mistake: he told the truth in a public statement.
In the UK, everyone has been deprived of their right to free speech; it does not exist. The thing is, if we do have free speech, does this mean that we can say anything we like without consequences? Sadly, no country in the world operates like that anymore.
Don’t tell the truth in this country, because the woke brigade will get you.
In this dystopia, it is all about making people afraid to speak their opinions, and then you are interrogated about everything you think about, so you can never tell the truth.
These days, it’s best to be quiet, not ask any questions at all, and avoid challenging anything.
Supposedly, we’re supposed to be living in a free country, but it seems that this freedom is not well received, resulting in numerous consequences. Unfortunately, this situation leads to a complete absence of freedom, and it’s always funny to see when the lefties are frothing at the mouth when someone introduces them to a little reality.
Surprise, surprise—a politician who’s speaking the truth, and then what happens? He gets cancelled.
We need someone who states the truth and is not intimidated by woke, left-wing agitators or religious nuts.
It seems the truth has been banned in favour of lies.
Speaking the truth gets you fired in this dark and twisted society we live in, and one should never apologise, especially if you’re going to get the sack anyway.
Social media has a lot to answer for in this world, and I would close it all down in a heartbeat if I could.
