A Reversing Car Knocks Over An Elderly Woman In London’s Little India

The shocking moment an elderly woman is knocked over by a reversing car on a leafy street in London’s ‘Little India’.

On Sunday, May 5, at about 1:30 p.m., an incident occurred on Alexandra Avenue in Southall.

An old woman is seen strolling along the street in the video, which was captured by a neighbouring CCTV camera. It appears that she is not aware that a white car is reversing behind her.

The woman is thrown across the tarmac by the car, which is also blind to the fact that she is walking on the road.

The driver is seen stepping out of the car to assist as well. Caring bystanders respond to the woman on the ground right away.

There were no arrests or injuries, according to the Met Police.

The video, shared on X by the social media account UB1UB2 West London, caused a great deal of controversy among its fans as to who was at fault in the scene—the pedestrian or the driver?

One user wrote: ‘Her fault, what’s she doing walking in the middle of the road?’

Another said: ‘[That’s what] happens if you walk in the middle of a road.’

However, others disagreed: ‘People trying to say it’s the pedestrian’s fault makes me worry…Everyone has a duty of care for their own safety, but it isn’t ‘illegal’ to walk on a road.’

A fourth added: ‘The driver is at fault for neglecting to check the mirrors.’

A spokesperson for the Met Police said: ‘Police were called at 12:31hrs on Sunday, May 5, to a report of a collision at Alexandra Avenue, Southall.

‘At the scene, a car had been in collision with a female pedestrian. The driver of the car stopped at the scene. The pedestrian did not suffer any injuries.

‘There were no arrests and no offences disclosed.’

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: ‘We were called at 12:34 pm on Sunday, May 5, to reports of an incident involving a car and a pedestrian on Alexandra Avenue, Southall, UB1.

‘We sent an ambulance crew to the scene.

‘Our crews were cancelled en route as we were informed the patient had left the scene.’

This lady was walking in the middle of the road. She was an elderly lady. Why would an elderly lady be walking in the middle of the road? Did she have some form of dementia? Did nobody wait to find out? Did the paramedics not wonder why this lady was walking in the middle of the road? Or the police.

My vision on life is pretty broad, therefore I like to address specific subjects that intrigue me. Therefore I really appreciate the world of politics, though I have no actual views on who I will vote for, that I will not tell you, so please do not ask! I am like an observation station when it comes to writing, and I simply take the news and make it my own. I have no expectations, I simply love to write, and I know this seems really odd, but I don't get paid for it, I really like what I do and since I am never under any pressure, I constantly find that I write much better, rather than being blanketed under masses of paperwork and articles that I am on a deadline to complete. The chances are, that whilst all other journalists are out there, ripping their hair out, attempting to get their articles completed, I'm simply rambling along at my convenience creating my perfect piece. I guess it must look pretty unpleasant to some of you that I work for nothing, perhaps even brutal. Perhaps I have an obvious disregard for authority, I have no idea, but I would sooner be working for myself, than under somebody else, excuse the pun! Small I maybe, but substantial I will become, eventually. My desk is the most chaotic mess, though surprisingly I know where everything is, and I think that I would be quite unsuited for a desk job. My views on matters vary and I am extremely open-minded to the stuff that I write about, but what I write about is the truth and getting it out there, because the people must be acquainted. Though I am quite entertained by what goes on in the world. My spotlight is mostly to do with politics, though I do write other material as well, but it's essentially politics that I am involved in, and I tend to concentrate my attention on that, however, information is essential. If you have information the possibilities are endless because you are only limited by your own imagination...
