Germany Considers Conscripting All 18-Year-Olds Amid NATO War Fears

Fearing an all-out NATO conflict with Russia, Germany may reinstate conscription for all 18-year-olds, according to secret military plans.

Two of the three possible options being discussed by military planners call for all males to serve a mandatory military year when they turn eighteen.

According to The Sunday Telegraph, authorities are reportedly nearing the end of their talks with German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius, who is anticipated to reveal formal plans next month.

Mr Pistorius, during a trip to Washington last week, said he was ‘convinced’ that Germany ‘needs a form of military conscription’.

He also previously described the country’s decision to suspend compulsory military service in 2011 as a ‘mistake’.

One concept under consideration by Berlin’s military strategists called for the conscription of all men and women upon reaching the age of 18.

Only men were subject to Germany’s prior mandatory military service legislation.

To include women would require changing the nation’s constitution, according to the newspaper, but ministry insiders reportedly believe the change would ‘most likely receive societal approval’.

Another proposal, which is viewed by the defence ministry as a ‘a strong signal’ to both allies and rivals, would only apply to 18-year-old men, but would not see everyone selected, the leaked reports revealed.

To be selected for duty, young men would first need to fill out an online form.

A third option under consideration avoids conscription and instead focuses on ‘optimising’ the current military system through more proactive recruitment campaigns.

Days have passed since Vladimir Putin proclaimed that his nuclear forces were ready to fight in case of a world war. Now, word has leaked out about the defence ministry’s possible preparations to enlist soldiers.

Putin spoke to high-ranking government officials, military personnel, and millions of Russian residents on Thursday from Moscow’s Red Square in an alarming speech.

He hailed the troops fighting in Ukraine for their courage and also blasted what Russia calls the ‘collective West’, accusing it of ‘fueling regional conflicts, inter-ethnic and inter-religious strife and trying to contain sovereign and independent centres of global development’.

Putin also delivered another sobering warning about Russia’s nuclear power amid tensions between the West and Russia that have reached their highest point since the Cold War.

Putin threatened to use force if his country’s security was threatened, but he also stated that the Kremlin would stop at nothing to prevent conflict on a worldwide scale.

Meanwhile, Germany’s chancellor Olaf Scholz said on Saturday that Ukrainians with a residence permit and work in Germany can stay even as Ukraine seeks to recruit nationals living abroad to serve in the war against Russia.

So, now this is where we enter the twilight zone. Germany will be asking its young to get ready for war. I thought they might jump on the bandwagon, but I’m not sure the youngsters of today will back that plan. They might have done it 79 years ago, but not now. But then saying that Vladimir Putin is no different than Hitler was, although we don’t have gas chambers anymore, we have nuclear power instead, much more efficient!

Migrants should be enlisted first in every country they settle in. It should be repayment for the life they’ve been given and they should not get any special treatment. That would be a gift to immigrants that they were not expecting.

Patriots of all countries will simply refuse to go to war. They will refuse to die in wars started by poor decisions and bad negotiations made by corrupt politicians.

If corrupt politicians want to go to war then perhaps they should be sending their families and children to the frontline. The average Joe just wants to live an ordinary, quiet life. It’s just the evil and corrupt leaders that want war, they’re what we call ‘warmongers’. Why should we have to participate in our government’s efforts to hurt people in other countries that we’ve never met?

My vision on life is pretty broad, therefore I like to address specific subjects that intrigue me. Therefore I really appreciate the world of politics, though I have no actual views on who I will vote for, that I will not tell you, so please do not ask! I am like an observation station when it comes to writing, and I simply take the news and make it my own. I have no expectations, I simply love to write, and I know this seems really odd, but I don't get paid for it, I really like what I do and since I am never under any pressure, I constantly find that I write much better, rather than being blanketed under masses of paperwork and articles that I am on a deadline to complete. The chances are, that whilst all other journalists are out there, ripping their hair out, attempting to get their articles completed, I'm simply rambling along at my convenience creating my perfect piece. I guess it must look pretty unpleasant to some of you that I work for nothing, perhaps even brutal. Perhaps I have an obvious disregard for authority, I have no idea, but I would sooner be working for myself, than under somebody else, excuse the pun! Small I maybe, but substantial I will become, eventually. My desk is the most chaotic mess, though surprisingly I know where everything is, and I think that I would be quite unsuited for a desk job. My views on matters vary and I am extremely open-minded to the stuff that I write about, but what I write about is the truth and getting it out there, because the people must be acquainted. Though I am quite entertained by what goes on in the world. My spotlight is mostly to do with politics, though I do write other material as well, but it's essentially politics that I am involved in, and I tend to concentrate my attention on that, however, information is essential. If you have information the possibilities are endless because you are only limited by your own imagination...
