Following a positive COVID-19 test, President Joe Biden returned to Delaware on Wednesday night, and it is now clear that his political career is in jeopardy.
Over the past 24 hours, private conversations with three top Congressional Democrats have leaked out, and they’ve all reportedly given Biden the same advice: he’s not going to win and it’s time to go.
Late Wednesday, CNN reported that Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi privately told Biden he could not defeat former President Donald Trump and could sink the Democrats’ chances in Congress as well.
Should Joe Biden step down? Well, that’s his choice; if he wants to withdraw from the campaign, perhaps it is time for him to pass the torch to somebody else. At the moment, the president has remained publicly defiant about staying in the race, but perhaps he will soften.
To choose their next president, Americans will cast their ballots on November 5. The two front-runners in 2020 remain the same.
Joe Biden’s candidature has been questioned by others who dispute his suitability for the position. Mr Biden’s presidency has been defined by high inflation, big industrial policy bills, turmoil abroad, and worries about his age, which continue to plague his campaign.
On the other hand, in 2020, Donald Trump’s followers attempted to reverse his election defeat. Regarding his purported involvement in that conspiracy, he was charged federally, and he was found guilty of a felony connected to his 2016 presidential campaign.
On July 13, however, a 20-year-old man opened fire on Donald Trump during a rally in Pennsylvania, killing a bystander and grazing the former president’s ear.
After this shocking assassination attempt, politicians of all stripes called for a calmer national mood. The election will now be less of a popularity contest than a referendum, which Americans believe is the least bad option.
Joe Biden had a meeting with his cabinet; he also spoke with the bookcase and argued with his desk, but sadly, they all disagreed with him!
I shouldn’t have laughed as hard as I did, but the thing is, it’s not even a joke anymore. Joe Biden is old and frail and needs to step down gracefully.
I don’t understand why his family doesn’t advise him to retire so he can spend more time with his grandchildren. He is just a man who deserves to retire. Many of us aren’t capable of making thoughtful judgements at this age, and that’s okay. After giving it his all, he should take a step back and enjoy his remaining years stress-free.
There should be rules put in place when someone runs for candidature, and there should be an age limit. Some might say that’s discrimination, and I might agree if the position that they were running for wasn’t such an important role, but it is. They are running a country! Not a circus and even then I would be a bit apprehensive.
I can’t help but feel terrible for Joe Biden. After he won the election, he was ridiculed by others, but hey, you cast your ballot for him! He exerted all of his effort. Perhaps he ought to have given up long ago and given someone else a chance, but he didn’t and now he ought to.
