Somebody I know said he woke up this morning and thought he’d had a dream – Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton competing for the presidency. And he’s plausibly right, Mickey Mouse should have stood for the presidency, if Trump or Clinton can get in, then I’m convinced that Micky could as well, and what’s more, the American people are that gullible, they would feasibly let Micky Mouse in as well. Of course, Mickey is a cartoon figure, but then so are Trump and Clinton.

What are the American people thinking, well, that is the million dollar question? When you reflect that these people, who are inquiring if we have tea with the Queen, and do we have any relations in Scotland since they think Scotland is only up the road, or even implying that some common person can baptize a Jew, then we are on a pretty uncertain road.

I don’t believe either of them comic characters should become president of the United States, and then I am imagining who would be the lesser of the two evils, Trump or Clinton? I suspect Trump would be the lesser of the two evils, so long as they want America to stay intact, on the other hand, Clinton is really trigger happy, and I’m convinced she believes she’s in the Wild West there someplace, perhaps OOOOk-lahoma, where the wind comes sweepin’ down the plain.

Hopefully, Clinton isn’t too menopausal when she’s considering pressing the button of destruction.

Numerous constitutional rights are interrupted during martial law and supposed to be restored once the emergency is under control. Furthermore, whilst the world political elites have been gathering in secret to prevent conservative businessman Donald J. Trump’s presidential crusade, it’s obvious that he probably already obtained the Republican nomination and maybe the Presidency.

The unbelievable reaction a Trump nomination could create amongst the political establishment is so big, many are thinking Obama is willing to proclaim martial law and suspend the election. Oh, I hope he does…

On the facade, this looks highly improbable and unlikely. Nevertheless, by doing a careful study on all that has transpired up until now, all Americans should be cognizant that this sort of scenario is quite likely.

As you presumably know, Obama is really disliked with the military. He is continually renewing the current officers with those who have shown special dedication and eagerness to walk the line, even if it has harmed troop confidence or ability.

In 1985, I was a mother and had one son who was a year old, and I never had the opportunity to even grasp what it was all about. Various people out there were seemingly the same as myself, and presently I find myself feeling really guilty of the fact that I never understood what was occurring in Afghanistan at the time.

On Wednesday, Gula was detained by Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency. Officials invaded her home in Peshawar in northern Pakistan. Some experts state perhaps she will go unpunished, whilst others state she could see 7 to 12 years incarceration.

Gula is being detained and investigated by the police. According to the Afghan ambassador to Pakistan Omar Zakhilwal, she will stand a hearing Tuesday, November 1. However, they anticipate her release. If sentenced, she would face 7 to 14 years in jail and a penalty of $3,000 to $5,000.

The National Geographic Society displayed its help for Mrs. Sharbat Gula and urges the Pakistani police to clear her on humanitarian grounds. She has experienced a life plagued by multiple difficulties and much struggle.

Gula had supposedly been using an unofficial national identity card that she had obtained without proper approval in 2014. Ilyas announced his agency was further reviewing three officials speculated to of improperly distributing the card to Gula. Usually, foreign nationals are not supposed to get these cards.

The three Peshawar-based officials have been discharged and were detained on bribery charges. They are currently released on bond but are expected back in court Friday. She has suffered throughout her whole life, and her arrest is an extreme breach of her human rights.

Millions of people escaped Afghanistan during the country’s conflict with the Soviet Union in the 1980s. Many established themselves in Pakistan, where now there are an approximated 2.5 million Afghans. The refugees have not always been welcome in the country, and have suffered prejudice and hostility from some Pakistani inhabitants and bureaucrats.

In 2014, Pakistan declared intentions to transfer many of its refugees away, noting that more than 60,000 national ID cards had supposedly been obtained fraudulently by foreign fugitives. According to the United Nations, more than 350,000 Afghan exiles have since left Pakistan for their homeland.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has distanced itself from Gula’s situation. In a discussion with a Pakistani newspaper, Dan McNorton, the Senior External Relations Officer for UNHCR Pakistan, stated the organization could not help Gula since she is not listed as a fugitive.

Thousands of Afghans have been detained over the past year under suspicion of having inappropriate paperwork. However, Sharbat has global recognition, and that’s why it’s a prominent story when somebody of her stature is connected to such a situation.

Gula has never asked for any fame, and she is seeking to survive and raise her family under very unfavorable circumstances. Gula has been arrested of having given the equivalent of about $450 U.S. in bribes to officials in order to obtain the ID card.

The cards had become popular in current years since they make it simpler for people to move about and carry out business. It is common, and legal, for the cards to be distributed to Afghans. Gula had been residing in Peshawar since 2002. She had five children, however, a daughter died while giving birth several years ago, about the same time Gula’s husband Rahmat died of an illness.

Her children have been calling, they are similarly fearful of getting arrested. Gula did not want to go back to Afghanistan, her settlement is not safe.

The attempt to relocate Gula in 2002 was hard. Steve McCurry showed her photograph to numerous people in the refugee camp in Pakistan until one man recognized her. She had taken shelter in the mountains of Tora Bora. Three days later, the man brought Gula back to the camp.

She was as beautiful as the young girl Steve McCurry had snapped 17 years before. She had no concept her picture had been viewed by millions, and that it had motivated numerous people to enlist or donate to help refugees.

Apparently, Nat Geo does compensate her and Steve McCurry even helped purchase her a house, he’s also committed on his FB page to funding for her legal fees in this case. He is a really honorable man. Hopefully, they’ll legitimately see her as an important social figure and worldwide treasure, by sponsoring a visa for her to live someplace better if she wants.

FREE SHARBAT GULA!

Everybody moans about politicians, everybody says that they’re useless, well where do they think these government officials originate from? They don’t leave the atmosphere, they don’t move through a cloud of another proximity, they arise from English guardians and English families, English homes, English schools, English houses of worship, English organizations and English Universities and they’re chosen by English citizens.

Is this is the best we can do people, is this is what we have to give, is this what our system offers, rubbish in, rubbish out, if you have narrow-minded uninformed taxpayers, you’re going to get greedy moronic leaders and you’re going to end up with a group of self-centered shallow British people. So perhaps it’s not the politicians that are useless, perhaps it’s something else that is useless, like the people.

There’s a subtle campaign trademark, the public sucks, fuck your dreams. Since, if it’s indeed the fault of all these politicians, then where are all these brilliant people of morals? Where are all these brilliant, respectable, intelligent British people, ready to step in, and protect the country and guide the way?

They don’t have people like that in England, everybody’s at the shopping centre, scratching his arse, picking his nose, taking his credit card out of his pocket, and getting a pair of trainers, therefore voting is insignificant because Britain was bought, sold and paid for a long time ago, the shit they shuffle around every five years doesn’t mean a thing.

And if you do vote, you have no right to protest, and people like to spin that around, they say, if you don’t vote, you have no right to protest, but where’s the reasoning in that? If you vote and you elect corrupt, inept people, they get into government and screw everything up, then you are accountable for what they have done.

You caused the problem, you voted them in, you have no right to complain, those on the other hand who did not vote are in no way responsible for what these people have done, and have every reason to complain about the mess the voters created.

It is the countdown to November 8th, and the pandering is in full drive for the presidential enthusiastic. Hillary Clinton’s campaign has assigned her to North Carolina to attempt to obtain the Black vote, and Donald Trump’s crusade seems to be right behind her.

With only 12 days until Election Day, Trump gave a policy-focused address in Charlotte on Wednesday, October 26th. He referred to it as a new opportunity for black America. That deal is floored on three promises, secure neighborhoods, excellent education and high-paying employment.

This particular crowd of which he spoke, consisted of 700 people and was invite only, in a setting somewhat opposite to the often-violent demonstrations that have been the trademark of his presidential crusade.

Trump offered some fresh recommendations, comprising a plan that would utilize tax holidays to boost cities, a plan that would seek to get international firms to finance striving communities in America, and a new federal disaster designation that would support getting cash to poverty-stricken urban neighborhoods.

Nevertheless, Trump declined to mention the origin of the money that would support those efforts.

He will supposedly further empower cities and states to attempt a federal disaster designation for blighted communities, attempting to support the rebuilding of essential infrastructure, the destruction of deserted properties and the heighten the occupation of law implementation so people have security in their area.

It’s an impediment that people face every day, and some people profit from working with the police, if you’re white, that is…

There was the unnecessary shooting of an unarmed black man by a police officer to who he posed no threat which made headlines. Charles Kinsey, a behavioral therapist, was working with an autistic patient when he was killed by a Miami police officer. Shot as he held his hands in the air and assured the cop that he was no threat.

The big distinction in the Kinsey shooting and the others that we frequently talk about in places like this is that he survived to tell the tale. What isn’t different is the unavoidable issue, that if an honest person like that can get shot, how can black people ever feel safe at the hands of police?

We are warned, once again, that the explanation is that they can’t. Not without a total change of the law enforcement system as we know it, at least. Yet how many real men, women and children have to be injured to get us to a point where we can even conceive of such a thing?

What kind of sacrifice do they need to have The Moment that changes the minds of a country committed to thoughts of native black culpability?

I do not approve of brutality from any party, no police slayings of people and no slaying of police officers. The goal is to prevent police wrongdoing, not to kill police. They require proper policing in the United States, not criminalisation of whole assemblies of people or movements.

They require genuine cops to help them root out the corrupt ones. Plus they require everybody to assert his or her outrage and annoyance in a nonviolent way. Then, and only then, will the substantive reformation they seek will happen.

An ambulance had to be removed from duty after it was vandalized with graffiti. The characters T.17 emerged overnight in big letters on the side of the life-saving transportation, with two smaller tags. The vehicle was parked at the Hayes Ambulance Station in west London.

A repugnant occurrence saw the van briefly taken off the road for cleaning. The ambulance was washed immediately and is now back in service, and the London Ambulance Service is working with police to find the criminal.

It’s disgraceful that somebody can do this, knowing full well that the transportation has to be used in life-threatening circumstances. No respectable person would do this, and it’s frustrating to imagine that somebody could do this sort of thing without considering the consequences.

Whoever done this to the vehicle is a pretty superficial person and obviously doesn’t respect anybody else but themselves. It could have been one person or a group of people, presumably, young teenagers that joined together in what they thought was a bit of entertainment.

Yet, it’s not fun, when it takes an ambulance off the road, even for a little while, when that ambulance could have spared somebody’s life. How would they like it if it had been their mother, father, sister or brother had required that life-saving transportation to get them to the hospital, or are they that cold that they have no understanding towards other people?

David Heseltine, a Conservative Party Councillor in Bradford, has provoked outrage during a conference of the Council’s regeneration overview and scrutiny panel by saying that tramps and drunks are languishing in doorways.

What we want to do is get them by the scruff of the neck and dispense with them. People have said they’d go into Bradford if they were eliminated.

Why Councillor Heseltine thinks that executing an attack on the homeless would improve the dilemma is a mystery. He would be better directed to urge his associates to strive towards providing people with homes, possibilities for employment, increasing mental health services and implementing interventions for alcohol and drug dependence.

The Nasty Party Councillor stated that he had talked to people who maintained that they would not visit Bradford city center owing to a number of drinkers and beggars. Heseltine is right in his affirmation that Bradford council, like numerous other councils, sets the town center aesthetic beyond the requirements of those that live in and around them.

Nevertheless, his ideas for dispensing with the dilemma of homelessness are completely wicked. These are people, not dogs or vermin to be disposed of to make your town seem simply a little better. Most people are never more than three paychecks away from being destitute. Our chosen delegates would be well encouraged to bear that in mind.

This is the plan and the beginning of the United Nations Agenda 21 plans, administering sustainable living on planet earth, ie de-population, all governments are at present about to sign up, aside from a few, Russia retreated from the plan after signing, Iceland, Iran are two others that declined to sign up.

This agenda is ongoing and the masses must either wake up or end up as serfs in complete obedience or be selected so as to be more willing.

There is no uncertainty that Tory Councillor David Heseltine, as like the balance of the cocktail-loving, rich kid, uncaring masses we have in Government, exist in beautiful large many-bedroomed houses in its own grounds.

Well maybe he could take some people off the streets and relocate some of the unfortunates into his nice big home. Now that would better the situation.

Michael Heseltine is another know nothing, and if there are too many people helpless to function in life, then this country is not being managed correctly. Before he hastens to disciplinary actions, understand that the homeless people are inhabitants of this country, just as much as he is.

He has been more successful, and if he is praising himself for working hard, simply remember the fortune you have had. Good parents, good health, a good education. If this is the sort of behavior he approves off, then we should feel at liberty to take him by the scruff of the neck and kick him out of office, home, and town.

Mr. Heseltine is no spring chicken, what goes around comes around. He’s a shocking councilor that lacks empathy and compassion. Innumerable people will be homeless and on the streets owing to this misleading evaluation of the ESA, making disabled, sick and defenseless people to claim the current intangible Universal Credit.

We all know that many of those high flyers get wasted on a daily basis after their work is completed, and they pillage on defenseless people, taking advantage of them and then punish them through allegations and then go home to their spouses and children. Homeless people are simply homeless, not a threat to anybody.

Mr. Heseltine has no empathy, and still he is simply a public servant.

Perhaps he should surrender all that he enjoys and go and live in the streets for a year. Then he could illustrate with a more accurate perspective. Assuming, of course, he hasn’t become an alcoholic or had a total breakdown or even diminished as a consequence of negligence, he wouldn’t last a week.

He’s somewhat like a carcinoma, toxic, cruel and wicked.

This is exactly the kind of stupid compassionless manner that has made our country’s homeless situation. This, and the cruel way banks repossess homes from people down on their luck. Not to mention the harsh shortage of mental health assistance, and the overall running down of NHS care for the vulnerable.

This is Tory government-sponsored genocide of the weak, the sick, and the disabled. People have to grasp what is befalling them, one day it could be YOU.

It was established in 1998 following a discussion about cannabis and MS on the Kilroy television show. THC4MS relies on contributions of raw cannabis from farmers across the United Kingdom and supplies medicinal cannabis chocolate to people with MS nationwide.

The organisation does not purchase or market cannabis or cannabis chocolate. It is a non-profit making association with the single purpose of serving those in need. Using it makes her walk better, it makes her arms work better, it makes her see better. It makes her speech work, it prevents her wetting herself and it prevents her toppling over. Presently it makes her feel a little better than she did when she wasn’t taking it.

A different woman is an MS sufferer. She has had MS for 10 years, and for five of those, she has smoked cannabis to alleviate her pain. At the very start, it was her daughter who got it for her. However, she was really concerned about endangering her daughter in that way. She could have got into a bunch of problems with the police.

Sometimes she has to go without cannabis for periods as supplies can be unpredictable. But when the pain actually kicks in, cannabis benefits and, as a consequence, She states that she can at least accomplish to get out of bed in the morning.

Today she’s still violating the law, this time to serve others and to hold the clandestine supply lines accessible. She’s really like a little district nurse, but rather than going about with hypodermic syringes and stuff, she goes round with cartons of food which will keep them pain-free.

On Saturday afternoon, CNN issued various audio snips from the Howard Stern program, of discussions among Donald Trump and Howard Stern. In the freshly rediscovered snips as Trump makes questionable remarks about his daughter, Ivanka, and talks about his views on sex with females who are menstruating, sex with black women, threesomes, sex habits, sex with Miss USA contestants, and more.

Some of the snips highlight Trump discussing Ivanka’s physique. In a September 2004 discussion, Stern challenges Trump if he can relate to Ivanka as a bit of ass. Trump replies yes, and that his daughter is impressive, states Trump, and following a second back and forth, Stern questions: “Can I say this? A piece of ass,” to which Trump replies with “Yeah.”

In an October 2006 discussion, when Stern made a remark about Ivanka’s boobs and questioned if she had received implants, Trump replied that she’s really always been pretty salacious. That she’s tall, she’s nearly 6 feet tall and she’s an astonishing vision.

Mother Jones and different outlets have previously written snips of Trump making rude remarks about females on Stern’s program, including one where he announces that Jennifer Lopez’s bottom is too large. In another, Trump reacts to an inquiry from Stern about if he’d stay with Melania if she was mutilated in a car collision by questioning, “How do the breasts look?”

In a 1997 discussion snip uncovered by CNN, Stern questions Trump if he’s ever had sex with a menstruating female. “Donald, seriously, you would not, right, am I correct?” Stern remarks.

In further interviews distributed by CNN, Trump announces age 35 check-out time when it comes to leaving women and replies to a subject about whether he’s had a threesome, and he said that we all have had a threesome.

I’m not convinced the overall populace would agree with that, and to my understanding, I’m not certain if that would be everyone’s cup of tea. I think we need to educate Donald Trump on the art of sexual activity between lovers.

From the noises of what Trump is showing us, obviously, passion is dead and buried, and apparently, we are endeavouring back to the caveman, and I’m working very hard to understand where this man gets his ideas from, obviously from underneath his very expensive toupee, that looks a bit like a rug.

Yes, that’s right, Donald Trump does not wear a toupee, it’s been established. What do they say about assumption being the brother of all fuck-ups? Of course, it’s the mother of all fuck-ups, stupid. Brother, mother, any other sucker. It doesn’t make any difference. He’s still a fucking idiot and he might not wear a toupee, but still looks like he’s wearing one.

If he believes that people all over the world involve themselves in threesomes, then he’s more of a moron than I imagined, but he’s got a tremendous amount of fans in people, mind you, that don’t indicate much, Hitler had an immense following, and look what happened there.

People need to be armed with lots of information about this man before they start following him around like the pied piper of Hamlin, but at the moment all they are armed with is bad breath, colourful language, and a feather duster.

He actually doesn’t have to compete for the presidency, considering that he has a share in most businesses in the United States: Real Estate, Hotels, Skyscrapers, Plaza’s, Casino’s, Hotels, Golf courses, Football and boxing, Beauty Pageants, Universities, Branding and licencing, and has twice been chosen for an Emmy Award, that’s probably because he’s a bit of a comedian, and actually shouldn’t be taken too seriously.

Model management and presently electioneering. Is there nothing this man can’t do or doesn’t control? And even though I applaud his chutzpah, I find the man himself repugnant. But people seem to have a deep affection for him, and that is their weakness.

Donald Trump is supposedly not a sideshow but the central performance in the GOP presidential sweepstakes. People like his character and his politics. Some people not only like his beliefs, but they further admire the way that he conveys it, but their stupidity might be his one and only saving grace to become elected as the President of the United States.

Shyster comes to mind when I study this man, but he’s a smart shyster and not stupid at all. Shrewd people like this would take the pickings from their grandmother’s nose and sell it, making a large deal of interest. Plus if Trump becomes President, he will sell the people of America down the swanny river.

Charm, plus a strong message has always been the recipe for political victory. Trump is frequently incorrect, but what matters is that he constantly appears right, of course, he does, that’s because he’s attempting to pull the wool over everyone’s eyes.

The people are reacting to his dynamism, to order, to movement, to smiling, to facial emotions that convey his authority. Couple that supreme confidence with simplistic, spontaneous statements that resonate with citizens on a profound level. The effect is a psychologically intoxicating blend.

The more Trump is scrutinised, the more successful he seems to get. Nothing appears to be able to put them off their candidate. In fact, when competitors tackle him, Trump’s numbers go up, however, there is a contention among people that I’ve seen over the internet over the past couple of weeks regarding Trump, particularly with this Robert De Niro thing that has gone viral.

US superstar Robert De Niro has bulldozed a brutal assault at Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, describing him a pig and declaring he would like to punch him in the face, well, we are all allowed to judge.

Robert described Trump as stupid, and stupid he is not, otherwise he wouldn’t have his thumb in every pie. He might be a bully, a mongrel, a mutt who doesn’t do his homework, and who doesn’t care, but none of them actually care, and when it comes down to it, they assure the people this and that but never come up with the goods, and if chosen could be a really dangerous person.

Robert stated that it makes him so furious that the country has reached a point that this idiot, has wound up where he has. Quite… it’s not hard to reach where he has got, particularly when his money has got him there. I don’t reckon he would have got anyplace without all his billions of bucks, and without it, he would just be a nothing, in fact, he would never have been discovered.

Why would Trump want to hit people in the face? That’s clearly not the way to go about things, which leads me back to, how in the Hades has he become so successful with an approach like that?

De Niro made reference to the evidence that in February the billionaire announced he wanted to strike a radical at one of his demonstrations, and in March Mr Trump announced he would meet the legal costs of a man who punched another protester at a demonstration. Is he presently developing a new Hitler regime, well, obviously so with all his german ancestry?

What do the people of America care about? Plus people need to air on caution when responding to this inquiry since this is a pretty tense time, but the importance should be about what people care about, what they desire for their country. It’s about them, and their country, not about how many majorities they can give to Trump because they don’t need to give him the Trump card.

He is now a billionaire in his own right, what does he want with the rest of the country? What, does this man need to feel powerful, god-like perhaps, or does he just want to take over the world?

Irena Sendler (née Krzyżanowska), also cited to as Irena Sendlerowa in Poland, nom de guerre “Jolanta” (15 February 1910 – 12 May 2008), was a Polish nurse and social worker who worked in the Polish Underground in German-occupied Warsaw throughout World War II, and was leader of the children’s division of Żegota, the Polish Council to Aid Jews (Polish: Rada Pomocy Żydom), which was operating from 1942 to 1945.

Helped by some two dozen other Żegota members, Sendler smuggled about 2,500 Jewish children out of the Warsaw Ghetto and then gave them fake identification papers and security outside the Ghetto, saving those children from the Holocaust. With the exclusion of diplomats who issued visas to assist Jews to escape Nazi-occupied Europe, Sendler rescued more Jews than any other person throughout the Holocaust.

The German occupiers ultimately uncovered her movements and she was captured by the Gestapo, beaten, and condemned to death, however, she managed to escape execution and survived the war. In 1965, Sendler was acknowledged by the State of Israel as Righteous among the Nations. Late in life, she was given the Order of the White Eagle, Poland’s greatest honour, for her wartime humanitarian efforts.

Irena Sendler was born as Irena Krzyżanowska on 15 February 1910 in Warsaw to Dr Stanisław Krzyżanowski, a physician, and his wife, Janina. She grew up in Otwock, a town approximately 15 miles south-east of Warsaw, where there was a lively Jewish neighbourhood.

Her father perished in February 1917 from typhus incurred whilst attending patients. Following his passing, Jewish neighbourhood leaders endeavoured to support her mother to pay for Sendler’s education, although her mother refused their help. Sendler studied Polish literature at Warsaw University and entered the Polish Socialist Party. She fought the ghetto-bench system that lived at some pre-war Polish universities and mutilated her grade card. As a consequence of this public demonstration, she was barred from the University of Warsaw for three years.

She married Mieczysław Sendler in 1931, but, they divorced in 1947. She then married Stefan Zgrzembski, a Jewish friend from her university days, by who she had three children, Janina, Andrzej, who perished in infancy, and Adam, who died of heart failure in 1999. In 1959 she divorced Zgrzembski and remarried her first husband, Mieczysław Sendler; but, they ultimately divorced again.

Sendler travelled to Warsaw preceding to the explosion of World War II and worked for the cities Social Welfare departments. She started helping Jews shortly following the German attack in 1939, by leading a gathering of co-workers who produced more than 3,000 fake documents to assist Jewish families. This work was executed at enormous peril, as, after October 1941, giving any sort of aid to Jews in German-occupied Poland was punishable by death, not just for the person who was giving the help but also for their whole family or home. Poland was the only nation in German-occupied Europe in which such a death sentence was implemented.

In August 1943, Sendler, by then identified by her nom de guerre Jolanta, was chosen by Żegota, the secret organisation further identified as the Council to Aid Jews, to head its Jewish children’s division. As an assistant of the Social Welfare Department, she had a special permit to access the Warsaw Ghetto to examine for symptoms of typhus, a condition the Germans feared would expand beyond the Ghetto. Throughout these visits, she bore a Star of David as a symbol of solidarity with the Jewish people. Under the guise of conducting examinations of hygienic conditions inside the Ghetto, Sendler and her co-workers smuggled out infants and tiny children, sometimes in ambulances and trams, sometimes hiding them in bags and cases, and using many other means.

Jewish children were put with Polish families, the Warsaw orphanage of the Sisters of the Family of Mary, or Roman Catholic nunneries such as the Little Sister Servants of the Blessed Virgin Mary Conceived Immaculate. Sendler served closely with a gathering of around 30 enlistees, principally women, who comprised Zofia Kossak-Szczucka, a resistance fighter and writer, and Matylda Getter, Mother Provincial of the Franciscan Sisters of the Family of Mary.

According to American historian Debórah Dwork, Sendler was the inspiration and the prime mover for the whole network that saved those 2,500 Jewish children. Nearly 400 of the children were directly smuggled out by Sendler herself. She and her co-workers buried lists of the hidden children in containers in order to keep a record of their original and new identities. The plan was to return the children to their original families when the conflict was over.

In 1943 Sendler was captured by the Gestapo and rigorously tortured. The Gestapo beat her mercilessly, breaking her feet and legs in the process. Despite this, she refused to reveal any of her comrades or the children they saved and was condemned to death by firing squad. Żegota spared her life by bribing the guards on the way to her martyrdom. Following her escape, she disappeared from the Germans, however, returned to Warsaw under a false name and resumed her association with the Żegota. Throughout the Warsaw Uprising, she served as a nurse in a state hospital, where she hid five Jews. She continued to serve as a nurse until the Germans left Warsaw, fleeing before the advancing Soviet troops.

Following the war, she and her co-workers collected all of the children’s records with the names and places of the hidden Jewish children and gave them to their Żegota co-worker Adolf Berman and his team at the Central Committee of Polish Jews. Nevertheless, most all of the children’s parents had been murdered at the Treblinka extermination camp or had gone missing.

Following the war, Sendler was incarcerated from 1948 to 1949 and ruthlessly cross-examined by the communist secret police, Urząd Bezpieczeństwa, owing to her associations with Poland’s principal resistance organisation, the Home Army, which was true to the wartime Polish government in exile.

As a consequence, she gave birth early to her son, Andrzej, who did not survive. Although she was finally released and agreed to join the communist party, her links to the AK indicated that she was never made into a hero. In fact, in 1965 when Sendler was acknowledged by Yad Vashem as one of the Polish Righteous amongst the Nations, Poland’s communist government did not permit her to travel overseas at that time to accept the award in Israel, she was able to do so only in 1983. In 1991 Sendler was selected as an honorary citizen of Israel. On 12 June 1996, she was given the Commander’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta. She got a higher variant of this award, the Commander’s Cross with Star, on 7 November 2001.

Nonetheless, Irena Sendler’s accomplishments remained mostly hidden to the world until 1999, when pupils at a high school in Uniontown, Kansas, along with their teacher Norman Conard, produced a play based on their investigation into her life story, which they called Life in a Jar. In the years 2006, 2007, and 2008 she was chosen for the Nobel Peace Prize. On 14 March 2007, Sendler was honoured by the Polish Senate, and a year later, on 30 July, by the American Congress. On 11 April 2007, she got the Order of the Smile, at that time she was the oldest receiver of the award. In 2007 she became an honorary citizen of the cities of Warsaw and Tarczyn.

On the occasion of the Order of the Smile award, she stated that the award from children is amongst her favourite ones, along with the Righteous among the Nations award and the letter from the Pope.

In April 2009 she was posthumously awarded the Humanitarian of the Year award from The Sister Rose Thering Endowment, and in May 2009, Sendler was posthumously awarded the Audrey Hepburn Humanitarian Award.

Around this time American filmmaker Mary Skinner filmed a documentary, Irena Sendler, in the Name of Their Mothers, Polish: Dzieci Ireny Sendlerowej, highlighting the latest interviews Sendler gave before her passing. The film made its national U.S. broadcast debut through KQED Presents on PBS in May 2011 in honour of Holocaust Remembrance Day and went on to win numerous honours, comprising the 2012 Gracie Award for best public television documentaries.

In 2013 the walkway in front of the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw was named after Irena Sendler.

In 2010 a memorial plaque acknowledging Sendler was affixed to the wall of 2 Pawińskiego Street in Warsaw, a building in which she worked from 1932 to 1935. In 2015 she was acknowledged with another memorial plaque at 6 Ludwiki Street, where she lived from the 1930s to 1943.

Her kindness to assist others knew no bounds. She had this craving and hunger that illuminated everyone around her, and anything that befell her, she would not be broken, and she was ready for anything, and she had shaped her life for the dangerous and perilous times ahead of her.

These helpless children simply wouldn’t have survived without Irena Sendler, and her capture and imprisonment mean that she gave these children their freedom, otherwise they would have been helpless against the Nazi’s.

Her need to protect these children should be a lesson for those who want to try and dominate us again. The fact is, that we will not be defeated, whatever happens, to us in the tomorrow there will always be somebody like Irena Sendler to save the day.
