A man has been imprisoned for five years after police caught him carrying a gun in his backpack.
Antonio Balu, 25, sped down Soho Road in Birmingham on the black bike before quick-thinking officers knocked him off balance as he rode past.
When West Midlands Police officers noticed Balu wearing a sweatshirt in the sweltering 25°C heat on August 13, they grew suspicious.
The dramatic moment PC Matthew More grabbed Balu’s bag as he rode by on an e-bike and caused the yob to collide with the curb is captured on bodycam footage.
Officers checked Balu’s bag pack and discovered a handgun with three rounds of ammo in it.
In the video, a panicking Balu tells officers: ‘I just found this bike and this bag, I just put it on now.’
An officer replies: ‘No you haven’t, we’ve been watching you for ages.’
When asked by police for his name, Balu says: ‘You don’t need to know my name mate.’
When asked what was inside the bag he replies, ‘Nothing’ before saying: ‘I haven’t done nothing wrong.’
Last Wednesday, Balu was sentenced to five years in prison at Birmingham Crown Court after acknowledging that he had a gun and ammunition.
The arrest was conducted by the force’s Guardian Taskforce – which is committed to tackling serious youth violence.
Detective Inspector Jon Green, from West Midlands Police Major Crime Unit, said: ‘This is excellent work by the Guardian Taskforce whose actions have taken a deadly weapon off the streets.
‘Balu claimed he’d just found the bike and the bag, but we pieced together his movements using CCTV to show that he’d left his house on the bike and carrying the bag earlier in the day.
‘What started as a routine stop of someone acting suspiciously has resulted in a loaded firearm being taken off the street and the carrier being jailed for five years.’
These kinds of individuals have taken over our cities and more and more of our towns over the past 30 years, thanks to our government and politicians on both sides. They have successfully taken over and occupied a large portion of metropolitan Britain; regrettably, the British people are not permitted to fight back or oppose them in any manner.
However, the goal right now is survival, not retaliation.
The UK government is so caught up in other countries’ wars and problems, that it can’t see the war that’s being waged within its own country, and it will get far worse.
Now that it’s growing that way every day and nothing is being done about it, we will eventually be swamped, but I believe that’s the plan—to cause havoc while the army waits in hotels, but our government doesn’t care because it’s all part of the agenda to obliterate British culture.
Our government seem to believe that climate change is the biggest threat that we presently face, more so than terror. Someone needs to get out of their ivory tower and see what is really happening, and it has nothing to do with climate change.
Our political elite are like Mrs Jellyby in Charles Dickens Bleak House. She was a philanthropist and obsessed with the needy of Africa and was so distracted by this that she failed her family – sounds familiar.
This man is a shocking criminal, of which there are many more.
I wonder what his legal status is here in the UK? People need to realise that it’s a privilege to live in this country, not a right.
Anybody surprised. No, me neither because we aren’t learning, are we?
