Green taxes on cars and planes are expected to be introduced as part of the Government’s delayed Transport Decarbonisation Plan.
A prohibition on selling HGVs by 2040, cheaper public transportation and more electric vehicle charging points are also under deliberation.
Documents published by the Department for Transport reveal how ministers intend to move to more green-friendly modes of travel, including helping drivers shift from petrol and diesel vehicles to electric ones.
Further carbon pricing for flights could be introduced while a road pricing scheme could offset the expected loss of fuel duty from electric vehicles.
The Government will also need to ensure that revenue from motoring taxes keep pace with the switch to electric.
Mike Hawes, head of industry body The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, said the sector welcomes the blueprint, but added huge investment, not least in infrastructure, was necessary and must be delivered at an accelerated pace.
The plan pledges to reconsider carbon prices to further expedite the shift to green fuels, which could see airfares increase.
Unveiling the plan in the Commons, Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said his green print was a comprehensive yet urgent strategy to end transport’s contribution to climate change within the next three decades.
In November, the Prime Minister brought forward the embargo on the sale of new petrol and diesel cars and vans from 2040 to 2030, but while China contaminates without recourse, the West will punish its subjects with taxes on everything.
And now the wokey dokey Marxist Tories are going to tax you until the peeps squeak, and just wait till we see the level they set Electric Car Charging Tax at per kilowatt because there will be one, you can guarantee it – they’re just keeping shtum about it so they can con people into buying them before they have no choice.
And how will we be moving large quantities of food and goods to supermarkets when HGVs have been outlawed?
Will we use lots of cyclists all in huge assemblages, moving up the motorway, carrying all this stuff?
What about refrigerated produce and dangerous chemicals?
These nutcases are hurrying green in without even considering the logistics, let alone the enormous costs of alternative transport, but then again we do have a government of lunatics.
But perhaps they’re counting on most of us not being around by then, or maybe they’ve got it covered, and Deliveroo has been awarded the contract to be the replacement – you didn’t seriously think those heavy backpacks were just too deliver Cod and Chips, did you?
This government and other governments alike are truly heinous with bans on conventional vehicles by 2030, new gas boilers outlawed by 2025, with very expensive heat pump alternatives, food taxes, green taxes, smart motorway expansion, electric scooters, and cycle lane chaos, and people are getting sick to the back teeth with Boris Johnson and Grant Shapps, but it really wouldn’t matter who was Prime Minister or who was in government, it’s all set in stone now, and it’s been set in stone for a long time, very gradually and deliberately so that people didn’t notice too much.
And some of it might look pretty good to some people, you know, the ones that are sheeple, but Tory donors and their other pals will make more money from all this, while they impose huge taxes, which are deemed to be all for the benefit of the environment, but the environment won’t improve because green-ism is just another way to steal the earnings of working people and make the rich even richer.
