The Tories hit a new low today as Boris Johnson was accused of lying in the undignified race for No 10.
As he flew back from his holiday in a frantic bid to muster support, Labour’s Sir Keir Starmer offered ‘serious, credible change’, saying that the Tories were unable to govern themselves.

Boris Johnson claims to have 100 MP supporters, but Tory MP Richard Holden said that they didn’t exist. Rishi Sunak has 113 backers and Penny Mordaunt has 23.
Former Prime Minister Boris Johnson was engaged in a bizarre numbers game in the race for No 10, as he declared that he had the support of 100 MPs was rubbished.

His disbelieving adversary Rishi Sunak sent out a message to the effect of: ‘Prove it, mate”, and Sunak-backing MP Richard Holden went a stage further, by saying that they didn’t exist.
By late evening on Saturday, only 54 had publicly declared for the ex-PM and put it in writing in nomination papers.

Ex-Chancellor Rishi Sunak, the bookies’ favourite at 2/5, had 113 confirmed backers while Commons leader Penny Mordaunt was trailing on 23 and, with a 33-1 shot, it may not make the final cut.
The Sunday Mirror revealed the ‘Bring Boris Back’ plot seven weeks ago.
MPs’ phones were red hot as each camp attempted to entice supporters away from the other. One Boris Johnson supporter said that they’d had several calls from Rishi’s people promising the earth if they switched sides.
Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer told a newspaper outlet that the country was fed up to the back teeth with this Tory chaos.
He said that they’re furious and they want their voice, which is why we need a General Election now, and that it was time to put this country first, and the party second, and that the Tories were unfit to rule the country and unable to govern themselves.
He said that we don’t have to go on like this. That he leads a serious, credible, changed Labour Party with a strategy for economic stability, employment and development.
MPs are adamant that Boris Johnson must keep Jeremy Hunt on as Chancellor even though he was a Remainer and never got a job under Brexiteer BoJo.
The ex-PM has also been told to offer Rishi Sunak either Foreign or Home Secretary and rehire some of the 59 ministers who quit in July forcing Boris Johnson to resign. Ms Mordaunt is likely to become deputy Prime Minister whoever succeeds.
Electoral Calculus predicts that on recent polls the Tories would have just 48 MPs of the 365 they had in 2019 if an election was held tomorrow. That means they would face 507 Labour MPs, up from 203 now, and be behind the SNP on 52, making Nicola Sturgeon’s Scots Nats the official opposition.
The trouble with Boris Johnson is he’s a bit of a weasel, and a self-serving fibber, and he doesn’t have a heart or even care about the working people, the unemployed, old or vulnerable, just himself, and we really need a General Election.
And how can Boris Johnson come back when he was booted out? Well, unfortunately, it’s a closed vote and they can do whatever they want, unfortunately, and just as he was booted out he can be booted back in.
Boris Johnson lies, that’s what he does, he’s a natural, and it’s likely his only talent, and it’s exasperating that grown adults are lining up to be lied to again, and once a liar always a liar.
