Sue Gray Report: ‘I Wish I’d Taken A Fine To Be With My Dying Husband’

“I wish I hadn’t followed the rules, I’d have taken the fine,” Sara said, adding she would have given anything to spend more time with her dying husband.

She told BBC 5 Live she obeyed the rules because she thought the government was doing the right thing, and like many of those bereaved by COVID, she’s furious at the disclosures in the Sue Gray report into Westminster parties during the lockdown.

Boris Johnson said he took full responsibility and was humbled.

Sara, who’s from Surrey but asked for her full name not to be used, said she’d been unable to go with her husband Tony, 59, when he was rushed to hospital during the first lockdown, back in 2020, and even though she was allowed to visit him briefly, the rules at the time meant she had to leave after a few hours and he passed away when she wasn’t with him.

She said that she would have taken the fine because that’s what Mr Johnson seems to have done. He didn’t obey the rules, his staff didn’t obey the rules, and they’ve taken the fine.

Sara, 60, said she’d been distraught but had listened to the government’s messages and obeyed the rules.

She said that she followed the rules and she wishes that she hadn’t. She said neither of her children could be there, they had to Facetime their father, and that their last memory of their father was to Facetime him and that her last memory of him was him saying that he would see her the following morning.

She said that one of the events, on 20 May when they had the ‘bring your own beer’ event, was the day she buried her husband and she just had her children with her and that it just wasn’t acceptable, and she said that she would have given anything for that extra time to have been with her husband.

She said it wasn’t just about a few drinks, it was about the credibility of the government, and said that Downing Street and the office of the Prime Minister had been brought into disrepute.

Sara isn’t alone in her outrage, the campaign group COVID 19 Bereaved Families for Justice says the Prime Minister had treated them like dirt and as an inconvenience.

Group spokesman Lobby Akinnola, whose father Olufemi Akinnola died as a result of coronavirus in April 2020 aged 60, said that when they were texting colleagues about getting away with it, people were having to text their families telling them they couldn’t come to their loved ones’ funerals.

He said the messages in the report show they knew how disrespectful they were being to the families they were failing, but that didn’t worry them.

He said they’re not satisfied with partying whilst he failed to protect our loved ones, the Prime Minister has now spent months ignoring and lying to the people.

Safiah Ngah, 29, called for Boris Johnson to quit over the wild and uncivilised behaviour in Downing Street.

She told the PA news agency restrictions in place last February meant she was unable to say a final goodbye in person to her 68-year-old father Zahari Ngah.

Her family had to settle for a video call as their last contact while government officials were cheers-ing, partying and joking about getting away with it.

Not only that, these freeloaders are getting paid by the taxpayer to have these parties. People couldn’t attend a funeral because Boris Johnson said so, but they could party it up when they wanted to, despicable behaviour from our government.

However, events which occurred are what happens in many bars within Westminster every day of the week. This behaviour is unacceptable and all these bars need to be removed. Westminster is a place of employment, not a social assemblage for boozing MPs and the Prime Minister of our country. The problem is, Westminster isn’t a place of work anymore, it’s just a place to jolly themselves.

There are a lot of people who want him gone, but he just won’t budge, so it seems for the time being we’re stuck with him.

He is a shameless and vile Prime Minister, and it appears that there are people out there that will swallow plenty more of his lies in the next couple of years.

Boris Johnson and his co-workers seemed to forget about the dying people who contracted COVID, while they partied and got their rocks off while people mourned for the loved ones that they lost in the pandemic. Fool me once Boris, shame on me, fool me twice, shame on you Boris Johnson.

Boris Johnson has been taking the piddle out of us, and he needs to go now, but the question nobody appears to have asked is why Boris Johnson even thought it would be safe to mix with people during this deadly pandemic, especially when he himself was in the hospital with the virus, or was that just a PR stunt?

Boris Johnson just saying sorry isn’t enough because he will just turn around and do it all over again, and now he’s just beyond a joke, and he should resign because he was only ever a wannabe Prime Minister and now he’s proved himself to be the biggest slimeball ever.

He evidently fibbed when he said he was unaware of any parties, having been photographed swigging wine at a leaving drinks party. How stupid does Boris Johnson think the public is or is that what he’s counting on? That the people are that stupid.

So, once again the rules have been totally ignored by the government, with the full knowledge that the British public can do nothing about it.

All government parties are as bad as the next, no matter what side they sit on because politicians are like nappies, they smell and they need to be changed regularly.

Doctor, 72, Who Sexually Abused 47 Women And Girls, Sentenced To 12 Years In Prison

A retired doctor convicted of sex offences against 47 women over more than three decades has been imprisoned for 12 years.

Krishna Singh, 72, was convicted of 54 charges, mainly of indecent and sexual assault, following a trial at the High Court in Glasgow which ended last month.

The crimes occurred between January 1984 and 2018, mainly at a medical practice in North Lanarkshire but also at a police office and a hospital accident and emergency department.

The married GP, who was awarded an MBE for medical services, also targeted girls under 16 and pregnant women who went to his surgery in Coatbridge, Lanarkshire.

His actions included kissing and hugging patients, touching their breasts and making improper comments to them.

Sentencing Singh when he appeared at the High Court in Glasgow on Wednesday, Lord Armstrong said that he had been convicted after trial of 54 charges of calculated and manipulative sexual abuse of 47 women and girls in relation to who, as a general practitioner, he was in a clear position of trust.

He said that Singh had committed the offences against his female patients persistently over a span of 34 years.

He said that Singh had breached his position of trust and carried out unwarranted examinations, telling him that he undermined the trust of the medical profession by eroding the trust that women would have had.

Lord Armstrong said that victim impact statements revealed that Singh’s actions had a devastating effect on his victims, some of whom now had a mistrust of the medical profession while others had suffered depression, low self-esteem and anxiety.

He condemned the 72-year-old to 12 years behind bars and placed him on the sex offenders register.

Singh’s defence agent, Janice Green, said he’d expressed extreme regret at his actions.

She said that Dr Singh knows that custody is the only disposal fitting given the serious breach of trust and that the gravity of the offences stems from that breach of trust. Yet, the 72-year-old had denied the charges against him.

Singh qualified as a doctor in India in 1974, and he registered with the General Medical Council as a doctor in November 1976 before taking up a job as a GP at a practice in North Lanarkshire, where he remained until 2018.

Singh also took up a position as a police casualty surgeon between 2005 and 2010 in Scotland, during which he examined people in custody.

This appears to be a health system that has failed for so many decades and for so many victims, and Mr Singh is an absolutely disgusting person who should have been handed down a more extended custodial punishment.

Health And Safety Concerns Force School Closure

A school has been closed over health and safety concerns after a schoolboy lost his finger running from his oppressors, and well-wishers raise more than £94,000 to help his recovery.

Education chiefs closed the campus after Raheem Bailey, 11, had six hours of surgery on his injured hand when he attempted to escape his oppressors, and got his finger caught in a fence.

The child had complained about students being mean to him after starting at 1,600 pupil Abertillery Learning Community in Gwent.

The school trust closed all of its campuses on health and safety grounds while an investigation takes place.

In a statement, Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council said that Abertillery Learning Community was working with Gwent Police in relation to an ongoing inquiry into an apparent attack on the secondary campus, and it said that all campuses at Abertillery Learning Community would be closed on health and safety grounds.

It said that students will access blended education on Monday, 23rd May. The safety and well-being of students and staff remain of paramount importance to the Learning Community and the Local Authority at all times.

The closure comes after Raheem called his mother Shantal Bailey crying in pain before being taken to the hospital.

Mother of four Ms Bailey said that on Tuesday morning break time, Raheem was attacked and beaten by a bunch of children whilst in school.

He was forced to the ground and then repeatedly booted, but he made a desperate attempt to flee the school grounds in order to escape the situation but caught his finger.

His mother said that she received a phone call from Raheem and then the school notifying her of the incident.

In attempting to mount a fence and escape, Raheem broke his finger. He underwent six hours of surgery, but it had to be amputated.

Raheem was taken to a hospital 50 miles away in Swansea but doctors were unable to save his finger.

His heartbroken mother said her son had suffered racial and physical abuse since starting at the school last September, and she’s now raised more than £94,000 through GoFundMe for a prosthetic finger and to help Raheem on the road to recovery.

Ms Bailey said she was very grateful for the charity shown by so many towards Raheem.

She said the kind messages had boosted the spirit of the young boy who she said was still occasionally feeling extremely down because of the bullying he’d received.

Surely it would make more sense to remove these bullies from the school?

Bullying is a behaviour that’s historically been linked to children on the playground, but it can occur among people of any age in any setting, so the primary question is why do people bully others?

The driving forces behind bullying can alter from person to person, but bullies share some common traits.

Some bully because they know it gets them what they want, while others bully because they’re extremely insecure, but no matter the reason, bullying is unacceptable, regardless of where it takes place, and bullies usually target people who are younger or smaller than they are, who work as their subordinates, or who belong to marginalised or minority groups.

Sometimes, even jealousy motivates people who bully, and bullying exists on a spectrum because not all bullies resort to hitting or name-calling, as children are known to do.

Sophisticated adult bullies may engage in smear campaigns against their targets rather than insult them to their faces, they might even enlist other bullies to target on their behalf. However, a bully’s end goal is to humiliate or hurt other people with the intent of destroying their reputation or life.

Harry Isn’t My Child

There’s always been a ton of conjecture about who Prince Harry’s daddy really is, and now speculation has raised its unsightly head to the surface once again.

James Hewitt has denied that he’s the father of Prince Harry like he’s denied it so many times before.

Admittedly Diana, Princess of Wales had a secret love affair with him for five years, and Harry does look remarkably similar to James Hewitt, but if you take a good look at the Spencer family who very rarely get a mention, Harry looks the spitting image of the Spencers, who are all extremely ginger-like on the male line.

Diana and Hewitt were together for a long time, but it’s extremely unlikely that Hewitt is Harry’s father, but we will never know unless a DNA test was done, and I’m sure that Harry is a better-looking chap than Hewitt ever was.

Harry’s paternity has been an issue for an extremely long time and a major talking point, but the gossip always concerned the Princess, and this folly should be scorched. Harry was born on September 15, 1984. Diana didn’t meet James until the summer of 1986.

Harry is amazing, although I’m sure that there will be a bunch of people that won’t agree with me. I actually like him, he has this real glint in his eye and is very down to earth, and I believe his mother would be extremely proud of him and his brother William.

You can also see Charles in Harry, but everyone wants to hop on the bandwagon because people just love a bit of gossip, but I could never actually understand why people were so obsessed with this stupid story that James Hewitt was the father of Harry. Harry has a lot of similarities to his mother’s side of the family, but you can see that he loves his old dad, and it’s obvious to see.

Harry is such an intriguing character, and he was such an adorable child growing up, and I think that we should leave him and his family alone now. Enough gossip seen here, let’s just get on with our lives and our families, rather than worrying over someone else’s.

Her Majesty’s Secret Service

According to reports, the Queen and the Royal Family have secretly opened their doors to Ukrainian refugees fleeing their homeland.

Palace sources say a number of members have promised to do their bit after being impacted by the tragic events following Vladimir Putin’s attack.

Royals have also made significant cash contributions but insist they want to keep their efforts to help under wraps.

The Government’s scheme has seen 54,000 refugees arrive, and the royal family is now offering to house six million people fleeing Russian invaders.

According to a newspaper outlet, Buckingham Palace insists members of the family are working on a number of projects but has refused to embroider on the plan to take in refugees.

The Queen herself has shown her support recently by wearing Ukraine’s famous yellow and blue, while also ordering flowers to Windsor Castle in the same two colours.

A senior royal source said that these things didn’t tend to occur by accident.

It comes after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also offered public support, paying tribute to the bravery of the Ukraine team at the opening ceremony of the Invictus Games last month, with the Duchess of Sussex exclaiming ‘Slava Ukraini! (Glory to Ukraine!’)

The Duke said he hoped the games would create the opportunity for the world to ‘better show up’ for the country of Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the Duchess of Cambridge recently seemed to fight back tears over the Ukraine situation when visiting the Ukrainian Cultural Centre in London, alongside her husband Prince William, who said that they were all behind you.

Kate and William, who revealed their eldest children had been asking them about the conflict, brought trays of homemade chocolate brownies and granola bars with them from Kensington Palace to give to members of the Ukrainian community and volunteers they met.

Also showing their support, both William and Kate wore pins showcasing the blue and yellow of the Ukrainian flag beneath a white love heart, while the Duke donned a navy suit and jumper for the outing in Holland Park.

The couple heard about the services offered at the centre, the amazing amount of donations they’ve obtained following Russia’s attack on the country and the challenges they continue to encounter to get material aid where it’s most needed.

But how about unlocking the gates to ex-squaddies on the street who swore an oath of allegiance to their Queen, and what about our hundreds and thousands of children who are in temporary housing?

Perhaps the Queen who these ex-squaddies swore allegiance should give up part of her estate because after all, she does have a vast estate, unlike most of the people here in the United Kingdom.

Perhaps they should build a canal from Dover to Windsor and route everyone up to her moat, and then she can wave and welcome them in.

I guess that squaddies signed up for a job they knew would be risky and that they knew the score, and that the people of Ukraine didn’t sign up to be homeless, but then two wrongs don’t make it right.

Perhaps the Queen who is a patron of certain organisations should get them to release more money instead of hoarding it, and this isn’t especially good PR from the Royal Family because all it actually says is that they’re not bothered about the British homeless at all!

Anonymity Could Be Taken Away From Sperm And Egg Donors

Donors of sperm or eggs could lose their right to anonymity as the fertility regulators consider recommending the measure be discarded.

Under existing rules, such contributors are totally nameless, although those who have been involved since 2005 can be contacted by their biological offspring when those children turn 18, but the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA), which governs the fertility industry, has warned popular DNA testing websites make it more difficult to keep identities confidential.

Currently, the fertility watchdog is considering recommending scrapping anonymity for sperm donors and egg donors as part of an overhaul of fertility laws.

Peter Thompson, HFEA chief executive, said that they feel that the technology of affordable DNA tests throws into question the underlying premise of obscurity.

He said that given that, the responsible thing to do would be to start a discussion about where we as a society want to go on these things. It’s a big change.

Whether families like it or not, he told a newspaper outlet that confidentiality might become impossible in the future and that the honest truth is that people will just find out.

The HFEA has launched a review of UK fertility law to recommend to the Government what needs to be updated.

If men could choose to give their names and contact details when they donate sperm, it would bring the UK closer to the US. In the States, some sperm banks offer women looking for contributors a dossier of information. Details that include men’s star sign, religion, hobbies and favourite kind of pet.

Fertility charities are concerned that the current lack of known sperm contributors, for women who want their child’s biological father to be known to them, is pushing people online.

On websites such as Facebook, there is no shortage of sperm donors. However, some try to pressure women into sexual activity or father too many children in one location, increasing the risk of unwitting incestuous relationships between them.

Mr Thompson said the HFEA hadn’t decided on a proposal around anonymity, and that one option under review was the obscurity of donors being lifted at birth rather than at age 18.

In answer to a question about whether this might discourage donors, he said it wasn’t the case when the law changed in 2005. Although the number of contributors dropped briefly, but then it recovered.

The HFEA is also expected to request stronger powers to fine fertility clinics found to be selling useless add on treatments. It also wants to make it easier for same-sex couples and single people to access treatment.

Anonymity was already lost a long time ago with all the DNA testing that’s done, and it’s so easy to do as well, so if men do contribute their sperm they should donate with the realisation that there is no obscurity anymore.

The point is that at the moment the sperm donor’s child can’t find out until they’re 18 who their biological father is, and if they were allowed to find out before then the father might be liable for child support.

Is this fair? No, not really. They gave their sperm anonymously so that someone could have a child because perhaps they were not able to have a child naturally. If the child wants to find their biological father after the age of 18 then that’s different, and I’m sure there are numerous sperm donors that would rather not be found. They provided a service and that was as far as it went because the repercussions of that didn’t go through their mind at the time.

A Group Of Four Men Murdered A 24-year-old Student By Beating Him Unconscious, Stripping Him Naked, And Throwing Him Off A Balcony

Billy Henham

A court heard that a student was beaten unconscious before his killers stripped him naked, covered him in bleach and hurled him off a balcony during a New Year’s Eve party at an abandoned building in Brighton.

Billy Henham, 24, was subjected to a sustained and significant attack in the disused building in the early hours of January 1, 2020.

Dushane Meikle was one of four men accused of murdering Billy Henham at a squat party

His battered, dead body was found by police the next day on a recess area of a roof terrace at the former office block in the metropolis.

Gregory Hawley, 28, Lamech Gordon-Carew, 20, Dushane Meikle, 27, and 18-year-old Alize Spence are on trial accused of his murder but all four have pleaded not guilty.

Jurors heard how Gregory Hawley, described as in charge of the squat, was laughing and joking about the attack and allegedly admitted to stripping Billy’s body and dousing him in bleach before chucking him out of a window.

A witness, who described the room where Billy was attacked as a torture chamber, told the court that Gregory Hawley claimed he had to clean up because someone got seriously hurt and that he said they had to finish him off because he heard his name.

Billy Henham, 24, was seen singing, dancing and smiling at a nightclub in the metropolis hours before the deadly attack at the disused building where a New Year’s Eve party was being held.

Maidstone Crown Court was told he’d suffered 11 rib fractures, extensive bruising to his scalp, face and neck, cuts and a brain injury that were all consistent with being beaten, kicked and stomped on.

Billy Henham, who lived with his parents in Henfield, West Sussex, and who prosecutors say could have been alive for up to an hour after the incident, had also been hit with a broken wooden stair spindle.

Two deleted images of his body, one partly attired and one nude, were later found on Meikle’s phone.

A jury heard that Billy Henham, who was studying at Ravensbourne University in southeast London, had spent Christmas with his family but wanted to see the New Year in, in a lively atmosphere.

Maidstone Crown Court, Kent, was told that having been to a nightclub and then an off licence, he finished up at a party in a disused building in North Street sometime after 4.30 am on January 1, but was dead within a few hours.

These people are low lives, ugly on the inside and ugly on the outside, and they’re not just animals, they are sadistic killers of a certain hue, and hopefully, the court won’t let the family down by giving out a lenient punishment.

In fact, saying animals is the wrong term because animals only eat to survive, this kind of scum just does it for fun, and hopefully, they will spend the remainder of their lives in jail because the brutality of this crime should warrant an entire life term.

Hopefully, they will rot in prison because they are certainly not fit to be part of our society.

A Helicopter Spins To The Ground In Dallas

Two people were killed on Friday when a helicopter suffered a mid-air breakup close to Dallas and came plunging to the ground in a fiery crash.

The helicopter crashed at approximately 11.30 am into an empty lot on a busy commercial strip along Texas 66 in Rowlett, killing the pilot and another person on board, but leaving no one on the ground injured.

Because the doomed chopper came down in a busy area during the lunch hour rush, there were numerous eyewitnesses, and the video shows the aircraft’s tail rotator plunging to the ground separately from the body.

According to KDFW-TV, the helicopter was owned by Sky Helicopters in Garland and was on a training flight when it came down.

The private firm offers helicopter tours of Dallas, flight training, and also contracts with several local television stations to provide aerial news coverage.

Sky Helicopters didn’t immediately reply to an inquiry from a newspaper outlet on Friday afternoon.

FAA records show the chopper was a 2016 Robinson R-44 Rotorcraft, which retails for approximately $475,000.

According to a 2018 Los Angeles Times investigation, the R-44 is the best selling civilian helicopter in the world and has a long history of fatal crashes, but the privately held Robinson Helicopter company refuted those findings.

The body of the helicopter that crashed on Friday anchored in a vacant field surrounded by several businesses, while the tail section landed on a nearby storage business.

Philip Herndon told the local Fox affiliate that he heard an explosion, and a few seconds later, he saw the helicopter strike the ground. He said he jumped out and it was already a ball of fire. He said he tried to get him out but it was too late.

Other bystanders tried to render help, but the fire seething in the wreckage made any recovery endeavour impossible.

John Rangle told the station that you could see people getting close, you could see them back away protecting themselves because it was just so hot and that there was nothing they could do to save them, unfortunately.

Rowlett police Detective Cruz Hernandez said that witnesses reported seeing the helicopter’s tail rotor break mid-air, sending the aircraft into an unruly spin before it crashed and exploded into flames.

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.

The FAA questioned witnesses on Friday afternoon and NTSB investigators are expected to arrive early Saturday morning to survey the damage.

Based on an analysis of National Transportation Safety Board accident reports, it was found that the R-44 had a rate of deadly accidents that was nearly 50 per cent higher than any other of the dozen most common civilian models whose flight hours were tracked by the Federal Aviation Administration.

It was found that from 2006 to 2016, R-44s were involved in 42 fatal crashes in the United States.

Deaths in the R-44s were attributed to preventable post-crash fires, helicopters that fell from the sky when they unexpectedly lost lift, main rotor blades peeling apart in flight or slicing through tail booms or cockpits.

Federal agencies were also probing the crash of a helicopter with three passengers into the Atlantic Ocean close to swimmers and sunbathers in Miami Beach, Florida in February, on a Saturday.

The Federal Aviation Administration said a Robinson R-44 helicopter plunged into the ocean near a crowded beach at 1.20 pm local time. The Agency said it was investigating the cause of the crash with the National Transportation Safety Board.

The Miami Beach police and fire departments responded to the scene and said on Twitter that two of the passengers were transported to a local hospital in a stable condition.

Twitter Executive Trashes Free Speech And Mocks People With Asperger’s

A senior Twitter executive has been caught mocking Elon Musk for having Asperger’s, in a video where he also hit out at free speech.

Alex Martinez, a lead client partner, was secretly recorded condemning the Tesla billionaire, who could be his next boss, to an undercover reporter at a bar.

He proclaimed the entrepreneur was literally special needs, so he couldn’t even take what he was saying seriously during a lengthy conversation, adding that he was a loony tune.

Alex Martinez showed the Project Veritas operative an email from Twitter’s corporate security, warning of such sting operations. ‘Like they’re trying to go on dates with them, like this,’ Martinez explained.

‘And then record them and then go sell it to the New York Times and say: ‘This is what the Twitter employee just said.’ Like this is what is really happening. ‘Lucky I met you organically, or I would be questioning you.’

He also criticised Elon Musk’s attempts to bring free speech back to the podium as he claimed advertisers were freaking out over what it could mean for the social media goliath. The 50-year-old billionaire spotted the video online and quickly hit back at Martinez’s remarks, saying that the Twitter executive trashed free speech and mocked people with Asperger’s.

The footage came a day after another unsuspecting employee was duped into revealing what occurs at the tech company.

Senior engineer Siru Murugesan was recorded saying the firm’s culture was excessively far left where workers were commie and they detest Elon Musk’s $44 billion takeover.

The two videos came amid a firestorm at Twitter as staff worry they would face the axe or be prevented from censoring certain content when the Tesla founder takes over.

Elon Musk has promised to return the platform to a safe space for users to post what they want as well as defeat the spam bots and authenticate all humans.

Meanwhile, he fueled speculation he could be aiming to negotiate paying less for the social media colossus as he told a Miami conference an agreement at a lower price wouldn’t be out of the question.

Martinez was recorded by an operative for Project Veritas.

He said that Elon Musk has Asperger’s and that he was special. That he was literally special needs and that he couldn’t even take what he was saying seriously, and in the video, Martinez criticises Elon Musk’s vision of free speech on the platform.

There have been loads of amazing people over the centuries that have been on the spectrum, it just means that Elon interprets the environment around him differently from other people, and to call him literally stupid is an affront to all people who are on the spectrum.

People on the spectrum don’t always have a lot of intonation or variation in how they speak, which makes it great for comedy, and which many people might make fun of.

However, some people on social media questioned his claim.

And yes, Elon might sometimes say or post bizarre things on social media, but that’s just how his brain works, but let’s face it this man has reinvented electric cars and is sending people to Mars in a rocket ship. Do you think he’s going to be a chilled, normal guy? Whatever normal is!

Engagement Rings Are Set To Skyrocket In Price

The cost of engagement rings could be set to skyrocket as diamond prices have taken off since Russia swarmed Ukraine.

Prices for High Street rings have already gone up by as much as ten per cent, but tailored pieces from top jewellers are set to rocket.

It’s all because the war has disrupted exports of uncut diamonds mined in Russia, sending shockwaves through the industry.

Experts said a more powerful dollar, the currency in which diamonds are purchased and marketed, and increases in other costs such as energy have also pushed costs higher.

Chris Wiley, manager at Madison, a jeweller in Hatton Garden, said many jewellers were scrambling to absorb inflated prices.

But he said diamond jewellery prices across the industry had generally increased by between five and ten per cent.

Ruth Donaldson, the owner of the bespoke jeweller Heirloom London, said the price rises were even more elevated at the top of the market.

She said that an item that cost £3,000 in January could be priced at as much as £3,400 now.

She said that it might mean that somebody is having to compromise on the spec of the diamond, while still getting the same size.

She added that people might shift to purchasing sapphires or other stones, which have become more widespread over the past few years.

The US levied embargoes on Russian diamond supplier Alrosa, which produces almost a third of the world’s uncut diamonds.

According to financial information service Bloomberg, that’s yielded a 20 per cent spike in rough diamond prices.

Tom Price, a commodities analyst at investment bank Liberum, said the deficit had been heightened by increased demand when lockdown restrictions finished, but he said that Russia’s diamond trade being marginalised expanded the lift.

Mr Price predicted increased prices could drop later in the year as Russia finds alternative buyers.

Not only have Russia and Ukraine corned the market in food and gas, and now it’s diamonds – what will be the next reason for price rises? We are well and truly being played on a grand scale.

Diamond pricing is a total scam that’s controlled by a monopoly. In reality, diamonds are as common as dirt, but their sale is being controlled, and there are many greedy traders that are going to the Ukraine crisis to raise costs and profits, it’s just another excuse to rip off the masses, it has absolutely nothing to do with the war.

Of course, the hardness of diamonds makes them especially suitable for an engagement ring because they wear and tear extremely well, as well as being the long-standing traditional rock for an engagement ring.

However, Corundum is also a hard stone and it is a gorgeous gem, the same as Rubies and Sapphires. Beryl isn’t as tough, but there are also Emeralds and Aquamarines.

There are also lab-grown diamonds that are more affordable and sparkle just the same as a real diamond, but I’m fairly sure that a diamond ring isn’t essential to life.

I’m reasonably sure that a diamond ring isn’t essential to life, and engagement rings don’t have to be diamonds.

People can’t afford to heat their homes, let alone think about buying diamonds.

There are plenty of other stones available for engagement rings, but people tend to follow the herd. What about being different?

Cartels control and manipulate prices on all natural resources, not just diamonds, and if we looked into it the list would be exceedingly long.

There isn’t a lack of diamonds, but the cost is regulated so prices are kept artificially high, but now the excuse is Ukraine, but diamonds don’t just come from Russia.
