In Saturday’s National Lottery draw, the winning combination matched all six major numbers.

The bonus number was 44, while the winning Lotto numbers were 17, 29, 31, 40, 47, and 56.

A set of balls six and the draw machine Lancelot were used.

Also, two persons who correctly matched five numbers plus the bonus ball won £1 million.

No players matched all five numbers to win the Lotto HotPicks, which uses the same numbers as the Lotto draw.

The Thunderball number was 03, and the winning numbers were 05,10,15,16 and 35.

The top prize of £500,000 went to one person who matched all five and the Thunderball.

Wednesday’s estimated jackpot is £2 million.

One Day Apart, Twin Girls Are Born To An Alabama Mother With A Rare Double Uterus

An Alabama mother with a rare double uterus who defied one in 50 million odds by becoming pregnant in each has given birth to twin girls within 12 hours of each other.

The 32-year-old Kelsey Hatcher gave birth to Rebel Laken at 6:09 a.m. on Wednesday and Roxi Layla at 7:49 p.m. on Tuesday. Both babies weighed more than seven pounds.

An excited Hatcher posted a snap of herself at the University of Alabama at Birmingham maternity unit, just before her babies arrived.

She said, ‘Our miracle babies were born! They decided they were rare enough statistically that they should just go ahead and have their own birthdays too.

She added, ‘I can’t wait to share the entire birth story with you guys! While we are all home now, we will take the time to bond, recover, and enjoy the holidays.’

Although the doctors had expected a Christmas delivery date, the girls came in time to celebrate the holidays with their siblings after 20 hours of joint labour after Hatcher was induced at 39 weeks.

Since she was 17, the mother of five has been aware that she had “uterus didelphys,” an unusual congenital disorder that is estimated to affect three out of every 1,000 women. In these cases, each uterus has a single fallopian tube and ovary.

In addition to discovering she was carrying twins this time, Hatcher, a massage therapist, also found that there was a foetus within each of her uteruses at a normal eight-week ultrasound check in May.

‘As soon as she (the technician) moved the wand to the other uterus, I gasped,’ Kelsey recalled, according to a statement by the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital.

‘Sure enough, there was another baby. We just could not believe it.’

According to Shweta Patel, the obstetrician-gynaecologist who treated Hatcher at the Women & Infants Centre at UAB, pregnancies in both uteruses are incredibly unusual.

Patel was Hatcher’s doctor during her third pregnancy. ‘But that was only one baby—two babies in two uteri were a true medical surprise,’ she said in the statement, stating she received further help from UAB experts in high-risk obstetrics.

The congenital defect of Hatcher’s dicavitary twin pregnancy meant her infants were not forced to share a single, constricted womb, a scenario that would have increased the risk of preterm birth, according to Richard Davis, professor at the hospital’s Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine.

Fortunately, they now have sophisticated imaging that allows them to handle unique circumstances and deliver a wonderful outcome. The two miracles. However, they’re not legally twins if she has a second uterus, but best wishes to the parents I’m delighted that everyone is well, which is a relief.

If we could go back just fifty years, the tale would have been very different from the beauty and marvel of medical technology today.

This is incredible, and what a story they will have to tell their children as they grow up.

James Cleverly Apologizes For Making A Joke About Giving His Wife Rohypnol Every Night

Only hours after declaring a crackdown on spiking, James Cleverly has apologised for jokes about giving his wife a date-rape medication every night.

According to a newspaper outlet, the Home Secretary made the casual comments during a Downing Street reception, telling female guests that having “a little bit of Rohypnol in her drink every night” was “not really illegal if it’s only a little bit.”

Cleverly chuckled too, saying that the key to a long marriage was to make sure your partner was ‘someone who is always moderately sedated so she can never understand there are better men out there’.

After meeting Susie at university, Mr Cleverly and she went on to have two kids together.

Although it is customary for conversations at Downing Street receptions to be “off the record,” a newspaper outlet chose to defy this rule due to Mr Cleverly’s position and the nature of the conversation.

Mr Cleverly’s allies claimed that although he acknowledged the inappropriateness of his remarks, they were delivered in a private environment.

In the past, Mr Cleverly has referred to spiking as a “perverse” crime and stated that ending violence against women and girls was a “personal priority.”

“In what was always understood to be a private conversation, James, the Home Secretary, tackling spiking made what was clearly meant to be an ironic joke – for which he apologises,” a spokesperson for the Home Secretary said.

Senior Labour figures denounced the ‘appalling’ remarks made by Mr Cleverly.

Shadow minister for domestic abuse and protection, Alex Davies-Jones, stated: “It was a joke” is the most cliched justification out there, and nobody is buying it.

“A complete cultural shift is necessary if the Home Secretary is sincere about combating spiking and violence against women and girls.” ‘Banter’ must end, and it must begin at the top.

“Spiking is a disturbing and serious crime which is having a devastating impact on young women’s lives,” stated Yvette Cooper, the shadow home secretary.

‘It is truly unbelievable that the Home Secretary made such appalling jokes on the very same day the Government announced a new policy on spiking.

‘It suggests that despite being the Cabinet minister ultimately responsible for tackling violence against women and girls he doesn’t get how serious this is. Victims will understandably be questioning if they can trust him to take this vile crime seriously.’

This is just not good enough for someone in his role, and this is not good at all.

This was a terrible remark. Either he steps down or gets fired. This isn’t funny, and he needs to get into trouble, but then this is so typical of the Tories these days, and this was an extremely strange remark from a fool in authority.

He really does need to go after that comment, and for no other reason than he’s foolish. Are there any MPs with any common sense? And this nation is ruled by these awful people. Step down immediately.

Do these politicians use their brains to keep their ears apart?

The general election can’t come soon enough, but what decent person can do any better? And the current opposition is no better.

The Largest Kebab Shop In Britain Has Opened Its Doors To The Public

The largest kebab shop in Britain opens on Oxford Street.

In addition to having table football, street art, and an arcade on the top floor, Kebhouze’s flagship restaurant spans three stories and accommodates 100 guests.

The Italian chain offers wraps and kebab bowls with four kinds of meat (chicken, veal, turkey, and beef), as well as a pea protein-based vegan alternative called ‘planted’.

Kebhouze is billed as an “immersive experience” that includes a seven-meter installation on the second story created by British artist Philip Colbert, also known as The Lobster.

The food restaurant moved into a former vape and souvenir shop that had closed earlier this year. It debuted on Thursday.

The owner is Gianluca Vacchi, a multi-millionaire businessman and social media star with more than 20 million followers on Instagram.

Oliver Zon, general manager of Kebhouze, stated that plans were in place to open additional outlets in the UK.

He explained that they naturally chose to go above and beyond, creating the largest kebab house in the country. However, people will still come from all over the world to eat in top-class restaurants and visit museums, ballet, art, architecture, theatres, clubs, music venues, parks, monuments, and shopping because nowhere else in the United Kingdom has a fraction of what London has to offer.

The problem is that London, like many of our towns and cities, appears to be full of takeaways and charity shops.

Sadly, there will be a lot of youngsters, gangs, fights, and stabbings here in the end.

The closure of the American Candy stores on Oxford Street seemed to improve the area’s appearance, but now this catastrophic decorating job has left the area looking like Southend in the 1960s. Westminster Council must examine this. I do hope that the cuisine tastes much better than the promotional material.

It’s a sad sight, Oxford Street. I had incredible childhood memories there, but it appears depressing now.

In Gaza City, Unlawful Killings Have Been Committed

OHCHR OPT has received troubling news alleging that Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) summarily killed at least 11 unarmed Palestinian men in front of their family members in the AI Remal neighbourhood, Gaza City, which raises alarm about the likely commission of war crime.

This comes in the wake of earlier allegations concerning the intentional targeting and slaying of civilians at the hands of Israeli forces.

The Israeli authorities must immediately initiate an independent, thorough and effective investigation into these allegations, and if found to be substantiated, those accountable must be brought to justice and measures enforced to stop any such serious breaches from recurring.

On 19 December 2023, between 2000 and 2300 hours, IDF reportedly surrounded and raided the Al Awda building, also known as the Annan building, in the Al Remal neighbourhood, Gaza City, where three related families were sheltering in addition to the Annan family.

According to eyewitness reports circulated by media sources and Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, while in possession of the building and the civilians sheltering there, the IDF allegedly separated the men from the women and children, and then shot and killed at least 11 of the men, mainly aged in their late 20’s and early 30’s, in front of their family members.

The IDF then allegedly ordered the women and children into a room, and either shot at them or tossed a grenade into the room, reportedly seriously injuring some of them, including a baby and a child.

OHCHR has confirmed the killings at the AI Awda building, although the facts and circumstances of the slayings are still under verification. IDF has not released any details on the incident.

If this is correct, then this is a terrible crime, but the UN reports are about as reliable as Hamas so I would like to see independent confirmation.

Apparently, hospital staff and patients were bulldozed alive into the ground. This is an inhumane war and crimes have been committed.

If this is true, then this is extremely bad. However, we should remain sceptical until we know the facts, considering how much propaganda has been coming out of Gaza.

The fact that this is but one instance of what has been the case for decades and goes on with impunity, and this is criminal, evil and inhumane.

This is shocking but not unexpected, and all criminals should be brought to account. However, where is the proof here, there seems to be a lot of alleging going on, but this is what war looks like.

If this did happen this is just pure evil, but then why am I surprised, and this is what genocide looks like.

This war is all about land and who it belongs to, and people will kill for that. They are all greedy fascist sociopaths, Palestine and Israel. It’s just land, they can’t take it with them when they die. Did both sides forget that the land is to make good for future generations, by the time they’re finished there will be nobody living on it to make good, you’ll all be dead and what does it say in the Bible, ‘Thou shalt not kill’. Michigan Democrat Christmas Party Attacked By Anti-Israel Mob

A holiday party hosted by Michigan Democrats spiralled into violence after pro-Palestine activists crashed the event and sent one attendee to the hospital.

‘Them Arabs in motherf***ing Detroit tried to kill me!’ said an activist who sustained two black eyes in the clashes.

On December 16, the 13th Congressional District Democratic Party held a private party at the Common Pub in Detroit, where about 200 people were in attendance.

‘Shri, you can’t hide, we charge you with genocide,’ they chimed, referencing the thousands of Palestinians slaughtered in Gaza amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.

In the footage, gospel music in the background sounded as members of the crowd pushed and yelled at each other. In one clip, former Detroit Police Commissioner Bernice Smith could be seen using her cane to fend off protestors.

Community activist Bobbie Avington Smith was injured in the struggle. She suffered two black eyes and was admitted to a local hospital.

Bobbie Avington Smith later took to Instagram Live, visibly bloodied.

She called on ‘black men’ to defend against ‘the Arabs’ who disrupted the event, urging them to ‘stand the f**k up.

Metro Detroit is home to a substantial Arab population. The suburb of Dearborn has the largest per capita Muslim population in the US.

Wayne County Commissioner Jonathan Kinloch, who also serves as the Chair of the 13th Congressional District Democratic Party, posted a shaky video from the event to X, previously Twitter.

Jonathan Kinloch, Thanedar and other Democrats spoke at a press conference Monday, where they blasted the protesters as ‘rioters’.

Jonathan Kinloch said they didn’t have a right to be there, first and foremost.

He said that the owner asked them to leave. He asked them to leave. They refused to leave so they were removed from a place where they had no business and no legal right to be in.

He added there was no security because it was intended to be a celebration and nobody expected any violence, adding the wellbeing of senior attendees was put at risk.

Addressing the protestors, Thanedar said that this was not going to give them support for their cause, and he welcomed opponents to come to his office and town halls to talk.

The congressman has been a staunch supporter of Israel, and a statement on his website read that it was now more important than ever before to reaffirm, their unequivocal support for the state of Israel, the lone Democracy in the Middle East and one of their closest, and strongest, allies across the globe.

First, they targeted the Jews, then they targeted Christians. It looks like they hate us all, and now they’re pushing to see what they can get away with.

These people have come from a hell hole and now they come to our shores and they want to make our country a hell hole as well, makes you wonder why they ran away from their country in the first place, they clearly love the drama.

These people are living in the dark ages and pray to a God who appears to summon them to destroy anyone with a differing belief. However, having a different belief doesn’t support terrorism, and there seems to be a hornet’s nest down there in Dearborn ready to explode, but go on, keep believing everything is okay.

Following A 45-Minute Outage, Musk’s X Website And App Are Back

Elon Musk’s X website and app are back online following a 45-minute outage that left thousands unable to access content.

The message continued that it was empty now, but it wouldn’t be long. Start following people and you’ll see the posts show up here.

However, the platform, previously known as Twitter, did seem to allow users to continue posting, despite them not showing up. #TwitterDown began trending shorting after 6 am as nearly 4,000 reports were filed on the website checker DownDetector.

The outage lasted about 45 minutes before user timelines started to display as expected.

Tesla billionaire Elon Musk took over the platform in a £33.6 billion ($44 billion) deal last autumn.

It comes after the EU said it would launch an inquiry into X over a suspected breach of obligations in its first such investigation under the Digital Services Act (DSA).

The DSA, which entered into force in November last year, needs extremely extensive online platforms and search engines to do more to tackle illegal content and risks to public security, and to protect their services against manipulative techniques.

The Commission said that the proceedings will focus on countering the dissemination of illegal content in the EU, and the effectiveness of measures taken to combat information manipulation, notably of the ‘community notes’ system.

It will also concentrate on the measures taken by X to improve the translucency of its platform and a suspected misleading design of the user interface such as checkmarks linked to subscription products, the so-called Blue checks.

The Commission said it will now carry out an in-depth investigation as a matter of priority and continue to gather evidence by sending additional requests for information, conducting interviews and inspections.

X, which is owned by Elon Musk, is part of a group of large tech firms facing increased scrutiny under the DSA.

Following Hamas’ attacks on Israel on October 7, EU industry chief Thierry Breton sent letters to X, Meta, TikTok and Alphabet reminding them of their responsibilities under the DSA to tackle harmful and illegal content.

The platforms answered promptly to Breton, highlighting steps they’ve taken to prevent disinformation on their platform but Elon Musk questioned Mr Breton over the disinformation charge.

Only X received a formal request for information under the DSA and has responded to the request.

The Commission said a preliminary investigation conducted so far included an analysis of a report submitted by X in September, X’s transparency report published in November, and the platform’s replies to a formal request for information about illegal content in connection to Hamas’ attacks against Israel.

If X wasn’t online anymore, how on earth would people manage to get through the day? However, even if X wasn’t there online anymore, some other platform would appear to do the same thing as X does.

Come to think of it, how would we manage if the media didn’t exist any longer? How about carrier pigeons? They were quite newsworthy. Saying that they were extremely nice to eat as well!

These types of platforms are of course excellent if you want to have a say in what goes on. The problem is now, they deny people the right to have a say and then say they’re troublemakers or terrorists.

I’ve heard it said that we don’t need social media to speak freely. The thing is, we’re not allowed to speak freely anymore, whether it be on social media or elsewhere. We don’t have any say at all! I don’t know any platform now that the truth is still allowed.

Hacking and outages are very common now, so we’d better get used to it.

What on earth was wrong with the name ‘Twitter’? Why did Elon Musk have to change it when everyone was used to it? Perhaps we should be calling Elon Musk the ‘Almighty’ or just ‘Musk’. Elon would look rather good pickled in a bottle of perfume, we could call it ‘Eau de Elon’. Please don’t do it Elon, you’re not worth the skunk scent it would produce!

After Being Unable To See An NHS Dentist For 2 Months, Teen Is Scarred For Life

A teenager who struggled to see an NHS dentist when he was in agony fears he has been scarred for life.

Jay Connaughton, 17, from Plymouth, Devon, developed an abscess in his mouth and attempted to locate a dentist but struggled so left it for two months, but when his face began to swell and he was unable to eat or sleep, he spent hours on the phone trying to book an appointment.

When he couldn’t get through he finished up at Derriford Hospital for several days where they extracted a tooth. It comes as a new report says NHS dentistry is at its most stretched point in its history.

Jay’s mother, Lisa Emmens, said that if her son had a routine dentist operation, it would have been picked up initially and his tooth could have been saved in the first place and that this was just the tip of the iceberg.

She said that children are coming up who are going to need dentist appointments that just aren’t going to get them, and they will be losing teeth unnecessarily, and that her son couldn’t be put to sleep because his mouth was so swollen, and that they couldn’t put the tubes down the back of his throat, so he had to be heavily sedated but couldn’t be put completely under for the operation.

She added that he was in hospital for three to four days because it was constantly draining. He was on a strong course of antibiotics in there and then came home and was on another five-day course of antibiotics when he came home as well. She said her son’s injury was healing well, but that he would need follow-up treatment and has been left with a lifelong scar.

Jay added that he started having problems and that he left it for a while and that he was trying to get hold of a dentist, but couldn’t get through so left it for two months.

He said that he kept contacting emergency dentists and that he was probably on hold for about three hours a day. When he finally got through, they took out the tooth instead of the abscess and his face started swelling up, he couldn’t eat and couldn’t sleep.

It comes as new research reveals most dental practices are not taking on new NHS patients, forcing most people to go private or, as in Jay’s case, seek out emergency help when something goes awry.

Now because it’s so hard to get an NHS dentist loads of people will have mouth disorders or some form of mouth cancer which will go undetected and likely kill them because they can’t get to see a dentist.

All that dentists are concerned with now is money and dentistry work that is ridiculously pricey.

However, if this lad was in agony and couldn’t find a dentist, why didn’t he go to the hospital immediately? Because some hospitals won’t treat you if you have teeth issues and will turn you away, of which I have no idea why, is the mouth no longer part of the human body?

It does, however, sound like this lad wasn’t registered with a dentist in the first place and he waited until it was an emergency before attempting to find one, although I must confess most people loathe going to the dentist, myself included.

The thing is why should people have to pay for their treatment if they’re entitled to an NHS dentist? That’s why we pay into the system. The problem is that dentists have become too greedy and won’t do NHS work for a fixed amount. They don’t care that people are suffering and have rotten teeth, they only care about the money. People are just greedy and can’t see beyond their noses.

Thousands Of Patients Will Spend Christmas In Hospitals Due To Junior Doctors’ Strike

Thousands of patients face being stuck in hospital over Christmas as junior doctors embark on the most disruptive walkout in NHS history.

Junior medics will begin a three-day walkout from 7 am today and will return on Saturday before embarking on a mammoth six-day stoppage from January 3.

Health leaders said the action, which has already forced one A&E to close, leaves patients safety in a ‘precarious state’ at the busiest time of the year.

They warned that patients are the ones being left to pick up the pieces of this dispute with yet more operations and appointments cancelled.

Rishi Sunak told the Commons Liaison Committee that the question for the junior doctors is as to why they’re refusing to accept something that everyone else is now accepting, on top of having a pay increase which is more generous than anyone else’s set by the independent body going into this.

Nurses, physiotherapists and paramedics have all called off action following pay talks, while consultants are to vote on an offer their leaders have accepted.

However, junior doctors rejected an additional three per cent pay increase on top of an average 8.8 per cent pay rise for 2023-24.

The stalemate has resulted in the latest strikes, which caused Cheltenham A&E to close last night until Saturday. Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said no minor injury and illness unit services would be provided, and that it would restrict treatment over Christmas and New Year.

Hospitals have been gearing up to discharge healthier patients sooner, with NHS chief Amanda Pritchard admitting that reduced staffing caused by the doctors’ strikes slows down discharges.

About 13,000 people a day who are considered medically well enough to leave the hospital were stuck on wards, mainly due to limited social care and community service capacity. However, NHS data shows the number discharged from hospitals fell in the last period of industrial action.

Julian Hartley, chief executive of NHS Providers, said that trusts were doing everything they could to enable people to get home as soon as they were well enough but the strikes were bound to have an impact.

Caroline Abrahams, charity director at Age UK, said it was ‘so sad’ elderly patients in particular could remain in hospital unnecessarily over Christmas.

Experts said the impact on services would be long-lasting and could jeopardise efforts to tackle waiting lists.

If doctors are not willing to put their patients before themselves, then they choose the wrong profession to be in. What happened to caring, that went out of the window? The problem is, that healthcare is all about money now.

These doctors don’t work all hours for peanuts, they get a rather fair wage. Some nurses work longer hours for less money.

So much for the caring profession. They simply care for nobody but themselves and the money in their pockets.

The medical profession is appalling. These doctors knew what they were signing up for when they entered the profession. It’s time these walkouts were prohibited, and how can these doctors go home at night and sleep soundly when someone in the hospital could be dying because they’re on strike?

Care in the medical profession is at an all-time low, and the wrong kind of people are being trained as doctors as they support money over patients.

We clapped our hands for the NHS staff, well they can stick that where the sun doesn’t shine. We want an NHS that values and can retain doctors and nurses, otherwise our healthcare in the future is finished!

Esther Rantzen’s Daughter Says She Doesn’t Want Her To Die At Dignitas Clinic

Esther Rantzen’s daughter has called on Parliament to vote on assisted dying rules to stop her mother from travelling alone to the ‘horrific’ Dignitas clinic.

The Childline founder, who was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer earlier this year, revealed she’d joined the assisted dying clinic in Switzerland and would consider going there to end her life should her next scan show she’s getting worse.

Esther’s family and friends could be prosecuted should they decide to join her, which would mean that Esther who is terminally ill faces the possibility of dying alone in an impersonal room.

Rebecca told a newspaper outlet that prisoners get a nicer farewell with their favourite last meal, whereas her mother would go into some strange conveyor belt where you are rushed through a process in an impersonal room without the people that you love because if they go with you they would be arrested.

She said that she wouldn’t be able to go because they would be arrested on landing. That she didn’t want her mother to go. That she didn’t want her to die, and she certainly didn’t want her to go alone.

In 2015, MPs voted against changing the law to let doctors help terminally ill people end their lives, meaning Dame Esther may be forced to go to Switzerland alone.

Rebecca said she wants to be with her mother because Dignitas isn’t a lovely place, and she said that her mum is the worst flier, she gets nervous, she goes to the wrong gate, she always gets delayed, and she said that Dignitas is on an industrial estate, it looks like a box.

Dame Esther has called for a free vote on assisted dying as the law needed to catch up with what the country wants.

She will find out in a few weeks if a new medication she’s been taking is performing its miracle or if it has given up.

Assisted dying is not a decision one makes lightly, but Dame Esther has made her decision, for whatever reason that is.

We don’t choose to come into this world, the decision is made for us by our parents to have a child. The same decision should be made by the person who wants to end their life by assisted dying.

I do hope that Esther gets the good news about her scan, but if not, then her decision should be respected and her family should be permitted to go with her.

Watching a parent die is not for the faint-hearted, and for some, it can be torture to watch.

Animals are given more dignity than human beings when it comes to dying and this shouldn’t be the case. If we still have free will up until the time we die, then it should be our decision to make and not some government that says otherwise.

We don’t allow animals to suffer, but of course, assisted dying needs to be regulated, but why should humans be allowed to suffer?
