Morally bankrupt!

This week, the EU’s Internal Market Commissioner Thierry Breton said the AstraZeneca subcontractor Halix, which is based in the Netherlands, had not sent doses of the jab to the United Kingdom since the bloc implemented export controls.

Speaking in The Hague, Thierry Breton gloated and said that everything has stayed in the EU.

He said the vaccine producers must first deliver what was promised to EU member states, but Express.co.uk readers have lashed out at the bloc urging Prime Minister Boris Johnson to tear up any deals with the EU.

One said that Boris Johnson seriously needed to rip up any deals with the EU, and that this charade just couldn’t go on any longer and that he would pay for it eventually if he didn’t.

Another reader said that now we see the EU superstate at its finest and that it was a disgrace.

Someone else said it was just another example of why the United Kingdom was better off out of the EU.

A fourth reader said that the EU needs more than vaccinations because it’s sick as it can ever become and that sadly, there doesn’t appear to be any medication to cure its illness, and that the illness is called the Mad EU disease and it’s spread extensively amongst its politicians.

Someone else said the EU is morally bankrupt, failed and corrupt with politicians.

They said that the EU struts around with its chest puffed out trying to look down on everyone else and shouting look how morally superior we are, but that in fact, they’re morally bankrupt, failed and corrupt politicians.

Another person called the bloc a pack of schoolyard bullies, and they said that they criticised the AstraZeneca vaccine, not approved till a few weeks ago and that now, they don’t want anybody else that ordered it before them to have it.

Someone else urged the Government to take urgent action to make sure no vaccines from the United Kingdom go to the EU cesspit.

In January, the EU introduced export controls on vaccine exports after it accused AstraZeneca of cutting supplies intended for member states.

Since then, the jab producers have had to put official requests to member states before accepting orders from non-EU countries.

The move allowed Italy to block a shipment of 250,000 AstraZeneca vaccines to Australia.

The bloc’s export authorisation scheme for vaccines is meant to terminate at the end of March but the European Commission is planning to extend it until June.

This is the EU in all its glory, they’re like a Fagin gang of child pickpockets and thieves, and now it seems that the EU could never be trusted and now it’s not just the UK that is seeing this.

And the latest EU mantra is as long as I’m okay Jack, and they do seem to be the lowest of the low, with no moral compass to guide them, but then nobody should be surprised by this, and little Englanders flounced out of the EU, and now consequences will follow.

What makes it even worse, this vaccine was principally developed here in the United Kingdom by our very own scientists, so how can Boris Johnson stand by and let this happen and take no action?

But it appears that the less Boris Johnson does, the more the EU shows its true aim, and that they just want to stiff the United Kingdom, and it puts the EU on a whole new level of shocking behaviour for the world to see.

IT’S CHAOS

A pregnant mum of four has been left horrified after her family has been made to live in a crowded two-bed plagued with rats and mould.

Kellie Sullivan said she was at the end of her tether over the property in Oldham, Manchester, continually battling leaks and rodents.

The mum said she frantically attempted to keep the home clean but was facing an insurmountable task, with her dozens of applications for other homes knocked back, and she said that her growing family of four children, with her fifth child due in just weeks, were bursting out of the two-bed home with no place to put anything.

First Choice Homes has since apologised, saying they were working to find her a new home, but Kellie Sullivan said it’s so overcrowded, and they’ve only got one storage space, so she’s got nowhere to put anything, and that they’ve been living out of bags for 4 years, and she said that she can’t find the things she’s looking for and that it’s chaos 24/7.

And she said that she cleans the house continually because the smell of the damp just gets to her otherwise.

She said she constantly tried cleaning, spending £60 a month on cleaning products but was fighting a losing battle.

The mum, who’s 34 weeks pregnant, said the family had been forced to throw out clothes, furniture and carpets that had been destroyed by the leaking water and damp in the house.

Rats and mice have also been spotted in the home and the garden, and Kellie even fears that her daughter has fallen ill due to the presence of rodents in the home.

And Kellie said the crowded home meant her children were forced to sleep in one room, with no room to set up her eldest son’s sensory equipment to help his autism.

She added that she slept on the kitchen floor when her daughter was born because there wasn’t any place in the bedroom for her daughter’s cot.

Emma Davison, executive director for customer first at First Choice Homes Oldham, said the family were at the top of their list and she said that they work hard to accommodate people on the waiting list with a suitably sized home as quickly as they can and that due to the volume of people in Oldham waiting for a home and the COVID 19 pandemic, then that means people are not moving as often and that this sometimes may take longer than they would want.

However, the council or whichever association they’re with should be sorting out their infestation in the meantime while they wait because no one should have to live like this in this country, regardless of how many children they have, and it’s sickening, and her council should be penalised for renting the home in that state.

And in the meantime, up the road in hotels, illegal immigrants are arriving every day by boat and being delivered to hotels at no cost to themselves.

Mould and mildew are seemingly the most serious problems that can occur due to a water leak because mould and mildew are likely to develop, grow in damp places, on wet patches and areas that build up moisture quickly, and even a few drops of water a day can lead to creating damp spots where mould is highly likely to appear.

And mould and mildew are not only harmful to the structural components of your home, but they can also pose some serious health risks, particularly for those who have respiratory problems and asthma.

Mould spores are known to cause allergic responses, skin sensitivities, nose and throat inflammation and soreness, coughing, sneezing, itchy and red eyes, and similar.

Brave Mum Dies After Using Her Own Body As A Shield To Save Twin Boys During A Car Crash

A brave mum has died after using her own body so that she could shield her twin boys in a car crash.

Selfless Hillarie Galazka sacrificed her own life to block the impact of the horror crash to protect her young sons.

The 29-year-old died throwing herself in front of her children Hunter and Owen, both five, who were left with minor injuries.

The quick-thinking mum was forced into the heroic act after driving back to her home in Lincoln Park, Michigan on March 1 when her vehicle was rear-ended on an interstate entrance.

The motorist who hit Hillarie’s vehicle was speeding and left the scene.

Hillarie’s mum Jodie Kelley said that her daughter’s body saved them, and she said that the boys said that they saw their mother open her eyes, and look at them and then she closed her eyes and never opened them again. The boys remember that.

The crash is being investigated by state police in Michigan, and reports say that the motorist was later discovered in a hospital and it was found that he had a suspended licence, five current suspensions and two local warrants on top of two prior convictions.

And according to a news outlet the full identity of the male driver, 25, has not yet been released by police, who are awaiting blood tests.

Hillarie’s mother said that she’s devastated and that she couldn’t understand why this man wasn’t in jail for his whole life for all of his warrants.

Two fundraisers have been set up in the wake of the devastating crash, one for the funeral and another to raise money for the children.

Hillarie also had another son, eight, who wasn’t travelling in the vehicle at the time.

Brother Jacob Galazka said that he was just glad the babies survived a tragedy for the family and that everyone loves the children. Everyone loved Hillarie and that she was a good-hearted, strong, beautiful woman and she didn’t deserve to die.

The GoFundMe pages have raised more than $30,000 (£21,718) combined so far.

This was a very brave and caring mother that paid the ultimate price to save her children.

Asda Shopper Pulls Down Mask And Spits At A Woman

An Asda shopper spat in a woman’s face during an altercation at a Liverpool store.

The woman was left shaken up and shocked after the shopper pulled down her mask and spat all over her in the Walton branch.

The victim, who asked to remain nameless, told a newspaper outlet that they were verbally abusive to her and other customers who were attempting to help in another situation.

She said that they were banned from the shop, but a woman ran back at her but was blocked from hitting her, so she pulled down her mask and spat all over her, and she said that she’s been shaken up and upset by it.

The woman claimed that staff and customers inside the supermarket rallied around to help her after the attack and that she wanted to thank them all for their help after the terrifying incident.

Police are appealing for information about the incident which occurred at the store on Utting Avenue, and a spokeswoman for the police said officers were trying to track down the person who spat at the woman.

The spokeswoman said that they were contacted following reports of an altercation involving several people at the Asda store on Utting Avenue in Walton at 4.45 pm Wednesday 3rd March, during which a woman was asked to leave the store.

The spokeswoman said the woman returned to the store a short time later and is reported to have spat at another woman in the store before leaving, and that enquiries were being carried out to trace the woman.

However, this seems the average mentality of a lot of people these days, and nothing shocks me when it comes to confrontation between strangers in public anymore, but there’s no excuse for this kind of behaviour.

And when caught, this woman should get a prison sentence, but she probably won’t and will end up getting a slap on the wrist, but she should be taught a lesson because spitting in someone’s face is something one would never forget.

This is filthy and shameful behaviour, especially when there’s a pandemic, but shameful even without a pandemic, and you can’t just think you can spit in someone’s face and there be no consequences, and when that person is found, there should be a prison sentence for her with this killer virus around, and the judge needs to set an example, and this woman needs to be in court for wilfully endangering life. However, this is the depraved society that we live in today.

Loyalist Paramilitary Groups Renounce Good Friday Agreement

Loyalist paramilitary groups have told the British and Irish governments they’re withdrawing support for the Good Friday agreement in protest at Northern Ireland’s Irish Sea trade border with the rest of the United Kingdom.

The Loyalist Communities Council, an umbrella group that represents the views of the UVF, UDA and Red Hand Commando, wrote a letter to Boris Johnson and Ireland’s taoiseach, Micheál Martin, warning of “permanent destruction” of the 1998 peace agreement without changes to post-Brexit arrangements for Northern Ireland.

The letter said unionist opposition to the Northern Ireland protocol, the part of the Brexit deal that keeps Northern Ireland a part of the EU’s single market for goods, should remain peaceful and democratic.

However, the decision to remove support for a peace deal that underpins power-sharing in Northern Ireland seems designed to sound alarm bells in Dublin, London and Brussels.

The warning came hours after the British government was accused of breaking international laws for a second time by the European commission after ministers said the United Kingdom would unilaterally act to give Northern Ireland businesses time to adjust to post Brexit rules.

Loyalist paramilitary groups supported the Good Friday agreement and have no wish to reignite the Troubles. But parts of the UVF, UDA and Red Hand Commando endure as a dark presence in Northern Ireland and some are linked to criminality.

David Campbell, the chairman of the LCC, wrote in a letter that they were worried about the disruption to trade and commerce between Northern Ireland and the rest of the United Kingdom that’s happening, but that their core objection is much more fundamental.

He said the protocol had breached safeguards in the Good Friday agreement, also known as the Belfast Agreement, to preserve the standing of both communities, and that loyalist hostility was on par with 1985 when unionists and loyalists staged mass gatherings against the Anglo Irish Agreement.

He said don’t disparage the strength of feeling on this issue right across the unionist family, and that therefore, he’s been told to advise that the loyalist groupings were herewith removing their support for the Belfast Agreement until their rights under the agreement were restored and the protocol is revised to guarantee unfettered access for goods, services, and citizens throughout the United Kingdom.

And that if they or the EU were not prepared to honour the entirety of the agreement then they would be responsible for the permanent destruction of the agreement.

I think that we can see that the United Kingdom has no goal and no long term plan and that this is an absolute failure of leadership, and what have we gained, aside from a catastrophe that’s causing misery to millions of people and now endangering the region with resurrecting an old conflict that we all thought we’d long seen the back of.

It’s not just our negotiators who are at fault, this goes right to the top, and the question about how this is to be managed has been asked over and over again, but all we get from Boris Johnson and his forerunners is babble and claptrap and some vague hand waving, and ‘We’ll cross that bridge when we get to it’.

But now we’re at that bridge, with Boris Johnson still refusing to cross, expecting the EU to come to him. Times up matey, there was lots of time and opportunity for preparation, and Boris still hasn’t come up with a solution.

The Brits left the EU to be autonomous and make decisions that affect their country without soliciting approval from Brussels and their courts to determine what is legal and what isn’t, but apparently, Boris Johnson has a plan, and anarchy is part of it.

Meghan Markle Says

Meghan Markle has announced that she’s finally ready to talk in a recently released extended trailer for her hotly anticipated interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The 39-year-old mother claims the Royal Family had previously forbidden her from opening up to the chat show legend and she said that she’s relieved to finally have the freedom and opportunity to speak out now.

In the latest clip, Oprah Winfrey reveals she first approached Meghan for an interview before her 2018 marriage to Prince Harry.

Meghan recalls that she remembered the conversation quite well and that she wasn’t even permitted to have that discussion.

Meghan turned her down nicely and said that maybe there will be a right time, and Oprah asked her what was the right time?

Meghan said that there were so many things there were on the other side of a lot of life experiences that have occurred, and that also that they couldn’t make their own decisions in a way that she couldn’t have said yes to then, and that it wasn’t her decision to make.

Meghan then revealed she found it tough going from living an individualistic life to being in the construct of her husband’s family which she said was difficult to how people would imagine.

Meghan said that after deciding to stand down from a senior Royal Family member, she said she found it liberating to be able to have the freedom and the right to say yes to her friend Oprah at last.

And she explained that she was able to talk and to be able to just make a choice on her own and to be able to speak for herself.

It was the latest bombshell clip to be released ahead of the tell-all interview which will first air in the US before being broadcast on ITV.

The second trailer for the forthcoming show saw Meghan sensationally claim that the Royals had played an active part in perpetuating lies about her and Harry.

The former star announced after Oprah inquired what she thought the Palace would think of her expressing her truth.

Meghan responded that she didn’t know how they could assume that after all of this time they would still just be quiet if there’s an ongoing role that The Firm was playing in perpetuating lies about them.

And, that if that came with a risk of losing things, and that there was already a lot that had been lost.

In the sit-down chat with Oprah, who was a guest at the couple’s 2018 wedding, Harry and Meghan talk about marriage, parenthood and their decision to step down as members of the Royal Family and relocate to America.

There’s probably some truth coming out from both sides, but let’s face it, neither side comes out squeaky clean. All you have to do is look back on all the Royal scandals, and even though Meghan knew what she was up against before she married Harry, doesn’t mean that she was prepared for the reality of it.

And Meghan has every right to express herself in any way she wants, and there’s no need for people to be berating her. However, where is the private life they yearned for or was that just a smokescreen?

They might not quite have the peaceful life they wanted, but at least they’ve got away from the abuse and control of the Monarchy and the media, and you can see that Harry is trying to look after his family.

Meghan Markle met Harry, a man that was not intended for the thrown but had all the complexities that came with it. No privacy, with people telling him everything he had to say and do, and also what to wear.

However, for Meghan, it could be too much for someone that hasn’t been brought up in that environment. And yes, she didn’t have to marry him, but clearly, she fell in love with him, and Harry always wanted to be out of the media, and he should have a say when his wife is being slated across Britain’s tabloids.

Hate them or love them, the Royal Family have had numerous scandals over the years.

Princess Diana, Prince Charles, Camilla, Prince Andrew and the rest, and it’s always swept under the rug.

Now Harry and Meghan have the opportunity to live their life without restrictions placed on them. Harry has chosen his wife and child over the establishment, and he should be praised for that.

US Catholic Bishops Advise People Not To Take The Johnson & Johnson Vaccine

Roman Catholic leaders in St Louis and New Orleans are urging Catholics that the COVID 19 vaccine from Johnson & Johnson is morally compromised because it’s produced using a cell line derived from an aborted fetus.

The New Orleans archdiocese says the decision to get a vaccine is one of personal conscience.

In its statement, it stopped short of urging Catholics not to take the Johnson & Johnson vaccine but added that Catholics should choose coronavirus vaccines made by Moderna or Pfizer if they’re available.

The Archdiocese of St Louis urged Catholics to seek out the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines and to avoid the Johnson & Johnson version if attainable.

Like the New Orleans archdiocese statement, the St Louis statement called the Johnson & Johnson vaccine morally compromised.

However, the St Louis statement emphasised that Catholics could get that vaccine with a good conscience if no other alternative was available.

Later a statement was issued by the chairman of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishop’s Committee on doctrine and abortion issues reiterating the moral concerns.

It said the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines were better if one can choose a vaccine.

And while not disputing the church officials claim that an abortion derived cell line is used in the production, Johnson & Johnson issued a statement emphasising that there was no fetal tissue in its vaccine adding the company used an engineered cell line system that facilitates the prompt production of new viral vaccines to fight many of the most threatening communicable diseases.

The company did not offer further specifics on its process.

Johnson & Johnson’s COVID 19 vaccine is made using a harmless cold virus, called an adenovirus, the same technology is used to produce a successful Ebola vaccine.

The adenovirus is grown using what’s called an immortalised cell line, and the virus is then pulled out and purified.

Several types of cell lines produced decades ago using fetal tissue exist and are extensively used in medical manufacturing and several cells in them today are clones of the early cells, not the original tissue.

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops said in a January statement that abortion derived cell lines were used to test the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines but not in their development or production.

Religion comes in numerous forms – the religion of science, the religion of politics, and the religion of any other God besides Jesus Christ, and yet many Americans spew their religious praises with a gun in one hand and a bible in the other.

And religious sects may be phasing out, but what will be replacing it?

But religion isn’t the issue here. The issue is what the vaccine is composed of, and that should be the concern, and I’m sure there are a number of medicines out there that are made out of illegal or immoral materials.

However, if we’re talking about morality, the Catholic church is only too happy to impose on their congregation with no contraception so that women become baby-making machines to produce more good Catholics.

What about freedom of speech. Oh, I forgot, women aren’t permitted to have freedom of speech, especially when it comes to their body, instead, they’re expected to stay at home with the children and have their feet permanently under the kickboards of the kitchen sink.

And how dare the Catholic church tell people what they can and can’t do, although I’m sure there will be numerous brainwashed people who will believe what they tell them, but people should be allowed to decide for themselves.

Atos Pays Out For Negligent PIP Assessment

A court has forced a discredited government contractor to pay £2,500 compensation to a disabled woman after a negligent disability benefit assessment left her in debt and experiencing significant mental anguish.

Atos, which failed to defend the case, basically ignored the order to pay the compensation awarded by the county court but was ultimately forced to pay up after being visited by debt enforcement officers.

Rebecca, from Stockton on Tees (not her real name), had decided to seek compensation from Atos for negligence and a failure of its duty of care because of the two-year ordeal she was put through after a face to face personal independence payment (PIP) assessment in April 2018.

The assessment led to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) removing all her PIP daily living support, which meant she also lost associated benefits including severe disability premium and council tax discount, although she did continue to get a payment for PIP mobility.

She and her partner, John, who had accompanied her to the assessment, had been shocked when they read the report written by the nurse who evaluated her.

Rebecca had explained in detail the impact on her daily life of epilepsy and a resulting heart condition, anxiety, depression and memory problems.

She had told the nurse how she couldn’t manage her medication, needed independent living aids to dress and wash, forgets what she has read before finishing a passage, needs help to pay her bills, and becomes anxious when mixing with people she doesn’t know.

But despite the oral and written evidence she presented, the nurse assessor gave her zero points for the daily living component of PIP.

Fortunately, John had recorded the assessment using specialist equipment he had provided himself, although Atos had twice forced Rebecca to postpone the test because the assessor was not qualified to be recorded, and he says the recording revealed how the nurse repeatedly distorted the information she was told.

Despite the recording being available to DWP, a mandatory reconsideration confirmed the decision to withdraw the daily living part of Rebecca’s PIP claim.

The decision plunged her into debt and left her requiring counselling.

When her case was eventually heard by an appeal tribunal in December 2019, the panel listened to the recording of the assessment and compared it with the nurse’s written report, and found unanimously in Rebecca’s favour.

They restored her entitlement to the enhanced daily living component of PIP and extended her award to 2023. She was already in the support group for employment and support allowance.

This was the third time Rebecca had been forced to appeal to a tribunal after an inaccurate Atos assessment and DWP decision on her claim.

She finally got a payment from DWP for the arrears she was owed for unpaid PIP and severe disability premium.

Even then, she was called for another face to face assessment just days later and had to rely on an intervention from her MP, Alex Cunningham, to secure an admission from DWP that her PIP award was now not due to end until 2023, and an apology for any distress the mistake may have caused.

Rebecca said that she was furious and frustrated at having to explain every two to three years that her epilepsy was a lifelong condition, with no known cure, and how it affects her day to day existence while knowing that whatever she says she will once again have to go through another appeal and tribunal, and that the entire process of PIP assessments leaves her traumatised, humiliated, fearful and in a state of anxiety.

Rishi Sunak Confirms Universal Credit Will Be Cut By £20 A Week In October

Rishi Sunak confirmed that Universal Credit will be cut for people across the country in October.

During an interview, the Tory Chancellor was questioned about the UK Government’s plans going forward to support more disadvantaged families.

He said the £20 a week uplift in the benefit would not be continued beyond the end of September despite concerns that families could face a cliff edge.

The increase in Universal Credit was first put in place in April last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Rishi Sunak announced during the Budget the additional £20 would be prolonged by six months after it had been due to run out throughout the first two weeks of April.

MPs from across the house blasted the Chancellor, saying it should be extended for a whole year while families get back on their feet.

The Resolution Foundation said the cut off in spending will cause a seven per cent drop in income for the most disadvantaged families across the country.

Questioned if he will extend it beyond another six months, Rishi Sunak told BBC Breakfast that no, they put this in position at the beginning of the crisis last year to help people in the national lockdown and that the restrictions had gone on for longer than any of them would have expected or wanted.

However, six months extension to the Universal Credit uplift means it will be in place well beyond the end of this national lockdown and asked why he wasn’t phasing out the £20, he argued it’s in place in full, all the way through to the end of September, which was a more generous approach than what he could have done, cutting it from the summer.

David Linden, the SNP’s Work and Pensions spokesperson, said that extending the lifeline for only 6 months instead of making it permanent and rolling it out to legacy benefits, of which an excessive amount of claimants are carers or sick or disabled, is an unforgivable failure from the Chancellor, and that it will see millions face a cliff edge in six months, as well as plunge hundreds of thousands into poverty.

He said that maintaining and prolonging the uplift was the bare minimum the UK government should be doing to make up for the decade of Tory austerity cuts that have exacerbated poverty and destitution.

However, anyone with more than two brain cells knows that nothing in life is free and that all this money would have to be paid back over the next few years.

Had our NHS been up to standard from the start of the pandemic, it would have been a great deal easier, but years of underfunding and the closure of hospitals has left us in a state of being unable to cope.

So, now, financially, the whole country is in a sorry state, and the NHS will miss out again, and we can only hope that the vaccine will eradicate the virus in the long run because whole regions of Britain are in dire straights and the longer the lockdown last the less chance of any kind of redemption.

This pandemic has been poorly managed by Westminster, but then no living politician has had to face anything like this, so no one should start looking for scapegoats.

Look on the bright side, some people survived, but many poor souls didn’t, and it’s time politicians were the ones on minimum wage because there are lots of people out there that are sick to death of all the perks they get, with all their fingers in all the healthcare pies they slowly privatise.

People need to wake up and boot the greedy Tories into a reality check because to cripple the poor by taking another £20 from them is repugnant by anyone’s moral standards.

Take away their free bar bills and free restaurants in Westminster for a start, and all from our taxes.

UK Government May Start Offering Financial Rewards For Becoming Healthier

The government is expanding access to weight loss services and may start giving people financial rewards for maintaining a healthy lifestyle as part of the fight against obesity.

The Department of Health and Social Care is giving the NHS and local councils in England £70 million to pay for up to 700,000 overweight or obese people to go on weight management courses, such as those provided by Weight Watchers or Slimming World, or work with a personal trainer to help them discard unwanted pounds.

Also, it asked Sir Keith Mills, the author of the Nector and air miles rewards scheme, to look into whether financial incentives would motivate people to eat better and exercise more.

He will look at whether initiatives such as the national step challenge in Singapore could work in England.

Citizens will be given cash payments if they do a certain amount of physical exercise, such as walking and running, and their progress will be measured through wearable devices.

Research printed in the British Medical Journal last year found that 1.6 million Singaporeans, 26 per cent of the population, had taken part in the government-backed scheme.

In return for undertaking certain numbers of steps, partakers received health points, which they could exchange for rewards worth up to US $10.

Downing Street has recently been examining the use of financial incentives to encourage people to lead healthier, more active lives and privately solicited the opinions of leading health charities, such as the British Heart Foundation and Cancer Research UK.

Boris Johnson, who has become set to undertake significant action against Britain’s obesity crisis after his stint in hospital last year with COVID, endorsed the latest government action on bulging waistlines.

Aides say that he’s slimmed down from a reported 108kg (17 stone) at the time he went into St Thomas’s hospital and is eating more healthily and taking regular exercise.

The Prime Minister said that losing weight was difficult, but that making little changes could make a huge difference.

He said that being overweight raised the risk of becoming ill with COVID and that if we all do our bit, we could lessen the health risks and also take the pressure off the NHS.

Katherine Jenner, the campaign director of Action on Sugar and Action on Salt, and an academic at the Queen Mary University of London said that whilst some useful weight management support services were essentially accessed through the NHS. Many were usually limited, underfunded and had long waiting lists.

But nothing seems to make people as obsessed with food as belonging to Slimming World and Weight Watchers. Of course, there’s the occasional success story, but it’s usually short-lived.

They don’t actually promote a healthy lifestyle, but calorie counting and an obsession with scales, and it’s a totally unhealthy relationship with food where it becomes the focus of everything.

At the same time they sell snacks et cetera that are packed with sugar to keep people addicted because of course, they wouldn’t want to run out of business if they made everyone thin.

Their plan is to use psychological tactics, where they’ll tell you that you can lose weight and still have some sins. That you can still eat the food that is bad for you, and still lose weight because they want you to lose the weight slowly so that you keep having to pay them for longer.

It also perpetuates the unhelpful way of believing that food is a reward, or depriving ourselves of something as a punishment, such as being good or being bad, and it’s a twisted way of thinking, but it also keeps you dependent on an external entity, almost like a cult, rather than finding the resilience and strength within to lose the weight.
