Kemi Badenoch Criticises Young People

Kemi Badenoch pledged to change the UK’s welfare culture while lashing out at young people who refuse to work because they think it is “beneath them.”

The Conservative leader, who worked in McDonald’s as a youngster, said too few were willing to work their way up ‘from the bottom’ as she did.

This morning, she said that her party’s Economic Unit – which she is leading – will carry out a review of the benefits system designed to get young people back into work.

It will explore which conditions the state treats as disabilities and ‘draw a line’ on which health problems people receive help with.

Mrs Badenoch said it would be a party ‘crusade’ to slash the welfare bill so that it paid to work and create ‘an opportunity state’ in Britain.

In a speech in London, she said she and shadow cabinet minister James Cleverly had ‘worked our way up’.

She referred to her time spent working at McDonald’s and New Look when she was younger, adding: ‘I bet many of you here this morning have similar stories, but today we are seeing a lot of people not taking jobs because they think that those jobs are beneath them.

‘Labour sent a very clear message that if you work hard, and you do the right thing, you will get less, but if you are on benefits, you will get more.’

She said the number of people of working age claiming benefits was ‘completely crazy’ and the Government was taxing ‘the people in our country who get out of bed and make things happen.’

Mrs Badenoch said the Tories would review every circumstance where ‘benefits are currently paying more than work’ in a bid to cut the welfare bill.

The Conservative leader said: ‘We will undertake a full review of the level and operation of the household benefit cap, which currently acts more like a sieve than a cap, because most people on benefits avoid it through one exemption or another.

‘Exemptions like being diagnosed with anxiety. Being diagnosed with anxiety can be worth more than £20,000 to some families.’

Labour faced criticism over the weekend for attempting to reduce the large number of young people receiving benefits by using pubs and bars.

Ministers announced an £820 million package aimed at helping nearly one million people into work, with jobs in bars, restaurants, building sites and care homes.

The money includes funding for training and work experience for 350,000 young people on universal credit.

Others will be offered ‘intensive support’ to help them find work, while Government-backed guaranteed jobs will be provided for up to 55,000 young people from spring 2026.

But questions have been raised about how many people will get jobs in hospitality. The sector is in trouble due to Labour’s national insurance contributions (NICS) raid in the 2024 Budget, and leaders have warned that the recent increase in the National Minimum Wage will cut hiring.

The British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA) had warned that pubs would close at a rate of more than one a day in 2025.

The industry body, which represents more than 20,000 pubs, calculated that 378 pubs will close, with the loss of 5,600 jobs.

Michael Kill, the chief executive of the Night Time Industries Association, said: ‘The Government’s announcement of £800 million to tackle youth unemployment risks missing the point entirely if the businesses that create jobs are being priced out of existence.

‘You cannot subsidise people into jobs that no longer exist.’

Youngsters who came out of school would start as apprentices or just start at the bottom and work their way up; they did not feel entitled. Now everybody wants to be a celebrity or boss without any idea of what they’re doing.

We need to bring back National Service; they’ll know what hard work is then, but our government won’t do that because they have swiped a generation of children and made them into wimps.

Nowadays, most youngsters believe that any job is below them if they have to start at the bottom, but those who do take more menial jobs believe that they will just move on to better things. However, by doing this, they simply get the basics wrong, like turning up for work late. The point is, if they’re struggling to do a part-time job, how are they going to cope with the pressure of a full-time job?

Nigel Farage’s Clacton MP Campaign Investigated For Fraud

Police confirmed they are assessing claims that Reform UK leader Nigel Farage violated spending rules during last year’s general election campaign.

Mr Farage may have violated election law by improperly reporting local campaign costs incurred in his Clacton seat, according to a former member of his team.

Richard Everett, a former Reform councillor, said he had submitted documents to the Metropolitan Police that he claims show an overspend.

Essex Police on Monday said they were now looking into the allegations, following a referral by Scotland Yard.

The force said in a statement: ‘We are assessing a report relating to alleged misreported expenditure by a political party in connection with the 2024 general election, following a referral to us by the Met Police.’

A Reform spokesman denied any wrongdoing, claiming the allegations came from a ‘disgruntled former councillor’ who was kicked out of the party.

Documents show that Reform came within £400 of the legal election spending limit of £20,660 in Clacton, the Essex seaside constituency won by Mr Farage in July 2024.

But Mr Everett claims that figure excludes some costs, including the refurbishment of a blue Reform-themed bar in the campaign office.

He also alleges the party failed to declare the loan of an armoured Land Rover that was used by Mr Farage during a campaign rally on Clacton Pier as a donation.

Mr Farage and his election agent, Peter Harris, may be held personally accountable in court for violating electoral law if Mr Everett’s allegations are proven true.

Mr Everett – whose function included the monitoring of election expenses and chaperoning Mr Farage about during the campaign following his defection from the Conservatives – reportedly said he believes Reform exceeded the spending limit by about £9,000, but he added that Mr Farage was ‘blissfully unaware’ of the omissions.

Under electoral law, campaign spending is highly regulated and is divided into expenditure by a national political party and by individual candidates.

National parties have increased spending limitations, and, while they can purchase materials used locally, they must not directly promote a specific candidate using a photograph or the name of a particular area.

It is understood that a dossier sent to the Met includes Reform’s official spending submission, photographs of various campaign materials bought by the party and expenses receipts.

‘Because of my experience as an agent, I’ve done many of these returns myself, so I know what is meant to be on them,’ Mr Everett told The Daily Telegraph.

‘In this particular case, there was a spending limit of £20,660.72. So that’s the amount you’re allowed to spend on the election. In this return that Peter Harris has produced, he says that we spent £20,299.80.

‘I do not think that that is an accurate figure. The reason why I think that is because of a number of items that were either missing on the return or wrong on the return.’

Tory chairman Kevin Hollinrake has called for a ‘full investigation’ into the allegations, adding: ‘We all have an obligation to play by the rules to ensure that our elections are free and fair.

‘Clearly, there must now be a full investigation by the Electoral Commission and the police to establish the facts and ensure whether or not Farage and the Reform Party have followed the law.’

A Reform spokesman said: ‘These inaccurate claims come from a disgruntled former councillor.’

The spokesman added: ‘The party denies breaking electoral law. We look forward to clearing our name.’

Labour Party chair Anna Turley said: ‘Nigel Farage needs to reassure the public that he and his party will cooperate fully with the police and put all the evidence they need on the table.

‘Electoral fraud is a very serious crime which fundamentally undermines our democracy.

There have been several attempts to discredit Nigel Farage, and with all these evil forces at work and gloomy times ahead, I’m sure there will be many more.

Although I don’t support Farage, it appears that there is a strategy in place to prevent him from leading his party into the election, but like all parties, they’re subject to some sort of scrutiny.

The problem is that they will target anyone who speaks the truth and draws attention to the grave injustices being done to our nation and its citizens. Simply put, if you have an opinion, you are an enemy of the state!

DWP Can Now Take Money From Bank Accounts

The Department for Work and Pensions’ (DWP) ‘bank spying bill’ has come into force and gives government agents new capabilities to tackle benefits fraud.

The Public Authorities (Fraud, Error, and Debt) Bill grants DWP agents the authority to get data from benefit claimants’ bank accounts and, under some conditions, to retrieve payments directly.

The Eligibility Verification Measure is the crucial authority that will allow the DWP to ask banks to provide financial data to its agents. It implies that a bank or other financial institution must comply with the request when it receives a fresh Eligibility Verification Notice.

The information that the institution can be asked to share includes details about the account holder, including their name and date of birth.

Agents can also ask for the bank account’s sort code and account number, as well as details about how the account meets eligibility. Transaction information should not be shared by banks, the DWP says.

If banks and other financial institutions fail to comply with these requirements, they may receive penalty notifications.

Ministers say the government is introducing these powers to be able to determine if an individual is eligible for a benefit they are claiming or have applied for based on their financial position.

For instance, holding over £16,000 in savings normally will render someone ineligible for Universal Credit, except in specific, limited cases.

The measures are understood to have a planned implementation period of 12 months using a ‘phased approach’ and working with a smaller number of banks initially.

The DWP will also gain controversial new powers to directly deduct money from an individual’s earnings or bank accounts using a ‘Direct Deduction Order’.

Baroness Maeve Sherlock, a minister of state for the DWP, said earlier this year that the department estimates it will make between 5,000 and 20,000 Direct Deduction Orders every year.

The new powers have been introduced as part of a raft of measures Labour says will form the “biggest fraud crackdown in a generation.” The government adds that, combined, the plans will save £1.5 billion by 2029/30.

But campaigners have criticised the new powers as “intrusive,” with civil liberties watchdog Big Brother Watch previously warning that it “threatens to usher in an unprecedented system of mass financial surveillance.”

Mikey Erhardt, policy lead at Disability Rights UK, said the new bill “poses a serious risk to Disabled and marginalised people”.

He told The Independent:” The problems with this bill go far beyond the reach of any new technology – they stem from how those in Westminster view our social security system.

“Instead of seeing it as an essential public service – a piece of social infrastructure that ensures we all have access to the right support when needed – they see numbers on a spreadsheet, not actual human lives.”

Minister for Transformation Andrew Western MP said: “It is right that as fraud against the public sector evolves, the government has a robust and resolute response.

“The powers granted through the Bill will allow us to better identify, prevent and deter fraud and error, and enable the better recovery of debt owed to the taxpayer.

“A benefits system people can trust is essential for claimants and taxpayers alike – through this Bill, that’s exactly what we’ll deliver.”

Every day, the DWP resembles the Gestapo more and more.

Even if the great majority of claimants are sincere and real, they are being punished like criminals and used as scapegoats for the small number of people who do misuse the system, and they ought to be held completely responsible.

However, don’t you think that the DWP already do random checks on claimants across the country? Of course, they do, and being contacted by them is scary enough, especially if you have not done anything wrong. Have played by the rules, been genuine and upfront whilst being courteous.

The UK has become an Orwellian state, and its new powers will mean that it can investigate your financial history and bank accounts at any time they want, and we are under continuous surveillance, and we are all being demonised and vilified as a society.

Delivery Driver Crackdown

About 60 delivery riders are to be deported from the UK after they were found to be working in Britain illegally.

Large numbers of newly arrived migrants are working for takeaway companies – disregarding a ban on paid employment for asylum seekers.

The Home Office said targeted action of workers in the so-called gig-economy, across the country, led to 171 arrests last month, including 60 detained for removal from the UK.

Chinese nationals employed in a restaurant in Solihull, West Midlands, Bangladeshi and Indian riders in Newham, east London, and Indian delivery riders in Norwich, Norfolk, were among those detained.

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood is seen conducting an operation in Streatham, south London, and police are shown carrying an arrested man into the back of an immigration enforcement vehicle and arresting another man by his bike in the street in video footage made public by the Home Office.

The drive comes as ministers crack down on illegal working in the UK, as part of efforts to deter those coming to the country illegally.

Last month, Ms Mahmood outlined several changes to the asylum system intended to make the UK less appealing to unlawful immigrants and facilitate deportations.

Border security minister Alex Norris said: ‘These results should send a clear message: if you are working illegally in this country, you will be arrested and removed.

‘As well as delivering record levels of enforcement, we are tightening the law to clamp down on illegal working in the delivery sector to root out this criminality from our communities.

‘This action is part of the most sweeping changes to illegal migration in modern times to reduce the incentives that draw illegal migrations here and scale up removals.’

Home Office figures show there were 8,232 arrests of illegal workers in the year to September, up 63 per cent on 5,043 in the previous 12 months.

Ministers have also been working with firms Deliveroo, Just Eat, and Uber Eats to address concerns about abuse in the sector and to ramp up identity checks to tackle account-sharing.

The Home Office also agreed in July to share asylum hotel locations with food delivery companies, to tackle suspected hot spots of illegal working.

The action also comes as the Government’s new Border Security, Asylum and Immigration Act became law on Tuesday, which includes measures to close a ‘loophole’ for casual, temporary or subcontracted workers to also have to verify their status.

Employers who fail to carry out checks could face up to five years in jail, fines of £60,000 for each illegal worker they have employed, and having their business closed, although I’ll believe it when I see it!

There are thousands of these illegal workers in the UK, all riding about on L-plates and getting away with it, who probably haven’t even passed their driving test.

The judges, left-leaning solicitors and barristers will ensure that these migrants are not deported.

I wonder how many migrants who are working will be deported by the time of the next election, because they will be allowed never-ending appeals as they are asylum seekers, and that will likely cost the taxpayers millions on top of the normal costs of providing for them. Perhaps we could discourage companies employing illegals by making the companies themselves accountable by picking up the costs of their appeals.

However, the public also needs to be made accountable because if they were that concerned about migrants illegally working, they wouldn’t rush out to their nearest takeaway to buy food.

Lorry drivers face huge fines if they accidentally smuggle someone into the UK, yet takeaways can employ them with no penalty; how is that fair?

It’s Believed That 800 Corpses May Be Buried At An Irish Mother And Baby Home Site

Investigators at Ireland’s notorious mother and baby house of horrors have made a grim find, excavating what they now confirm to be part of a long-suspected burial ground where up to 800 babies are feared to lie.

The excavation team, which started its painstaking work in July, revealed that it has uncovered compelling evidence of a graveyard on the western edge of the former Tuam institution in County Galway – the site that shook the world a decade ago.

The home at Tuam first attracted international awareness in 2014, when local historian Catherine Corless discovered 796 death certificates for babies and young children who died there, yet encountered no burial records at all.

Now, the Office of the Director of Authorised Intervention, Tuam (ODAIT), has unleashed its fourth update – and the findings are as harrowing as they are historic.

Officials reported that they had found ‘graves of child or infant size’ in the area currently being excavated under a large tent.

The site aligns precisely with a section marked ‘burial ground’ on old site maps.

In its statement, ODAIT said: ‘Despite these historical references, there were no surface or ground level indications of the potential for a burial ground at this location prior to excavation.

‘The presence of burials at this location has now been confirmed.

‘The layout and size of the graves is consistent evidence that, at this part of the site, there is a burial ground from the time of the operation of the mother-and-baby institution.’

The institution, run by the Bon Secours Sisters on behalf of Galway County Council, was open from 1925 until its closure in 1961.

In addition to the seven sets of human remains revealed last month, four more sets are included in the most recent discoveries.

According to ODAIT, ‘initial assessments’ suggest all eleven sets are infants and that each had been buried in coffins. Further analysis is underway.

Both manual and mechanical excavation work is still being done beneath the tent.

The recently established burial area lies approximately 100 metres from the notorious subterranean chambers where a government inquiry discovered ‘significant quantities’ of remains in 2017.

Leading the operation is Director of Authorised Intervention Daniel MacSweeney, a veteran of International Committee of the Red Cross missions to recover missing people.

Speaking to RTÉ after the confirmation of infant remains, he said the discovery was ‘very important.’

MacSweeney announced that 160 people have already come forward to give DNA samples in hopes of identifying lost relatives.

He urged more to do the same, adding: ‘I know from experience that sometimes the discovery of remains can be a catalyst for people to come forward.’

The Bon Secours Sisters, who previously admitted that children were ‘buried in a disrespectful and unacceptable way’ and issued an apology, have contributed £2.14 million to the excavation costs.

Galway County Council, which also apologised in 2021 for ‘failing mothers and children,’ has supported the operation as well.

The immense excavation is anticipated to continue until 2027, with years of follow-up work to follow – meaning the quest to finally give these children dignity, names, and a resting place is far from over.

There are undoubtedly more similar locations around Ireland, and the government have been attempting to conceal them for years.

This is just terrible, and there are just no words to justify what happened to these infants and children.

Religion has a lot to answer for, but for some reason, some people still revel in it, but of course, these young girls didn’t get pregnant by themselves – it wasn’t the immaculate conception, but they were treated extremely harshly along with their babies, who were usually sold to wealthy American’s or shipped overseas and treated even more harshly – what happened to them would make your heart burn with despair.

The atrocities perpetrated by the good old Irish nuns are endless. They did not even express remorse or an apology for their actions, and some mother and baby units were still operating up until the 1990s, where they locked women up for having a baby in the name of the Catholic Church. Many of these nuns were sadistic devils who took babies away from their mothers – shame on them all!

Hero Martial Artist

This is the scene as a champion martial artist bundles a suspected sex attacker who reportedly targeted a teenage girl to the ground.

Brazilian jiu-jitsu expert Ivan Skoko, 29, used a leg sweep before using his knees to restrain the man in busy Moorgate, central London.

Just moments before, the suspect – heard screaming in a foreign language – allegedly grabbed his victim’s behind as she travelled home.

Two teenage boys courageously challenged the man before he tried to swing a punch and chase them at about 9 pm on Friday.

The incident was swiftly brought to a close by quick-thinking Ivan, a 6ft 3in black belt who coaches clients in specialist self-defence.

The suspect, who was wearing a black hooded jacket, was captured on camera attempting to escape while being taken into custody by the City of London Police.

Ivan told the Daily Mail: ‘I had just finished training at the gym in Moorgate. There was a seminar with our head coach there.

‘I was walking towards the station, and I could see there was a big commotion. I could see young people screaming around a guy.

‘I could see something serious was happening, so I crossed the street and realised the girl, she was only 14, was saying “this man grabbed my ass”.

‘I decided to wait and see if I could help – and the guy started swinging at two young boys.

‘When I saw that, I took my headphones off and thought”, Let’s just take this guy down.”

The Croatian-born champion asked one of the onlookers to record him as he leapt into action and incapacitated the assailant.

He said, ‘I took him down with a leg sweep. It was very effective. He stopped resisting.

‘The police arrived very quickly, and they restrained him. He was resisting the arrest. I gave my details to them and left the scene.

‘The man had grabbed the behind of the young girl and had tried to punch another two kids. This is not the way people should be acting.’

Ivan, who runs Brazilian jiu-jitsu classes at Fight City Gym in Elephant and Castle, south London, added: ‘Things are getting terrible here. I don’t know how to sort this problem. I can’t deal with this every day.

‘I am starting an online course called Primitive Jiu-Jitsu. It will give people of any ability the methods of how to defend themselves safely.

‘Regular people will be able to defend themselves in the same way that I did. I’m launching it in seven days.’

Another clip shows the distressed victim discussing what occurred with the police, where she is heard saying: ‘He grabbed my ass. He then turned around and looked at me.’

It has been just over a month since Ivan tackled a suspected pickpocket armed with a hammer at a busy tube station, as revealed by the Daily Mail.

The 15-stone fighter grabbed the suspect and waited for police to arrest him after he targeted a woman at Borough Station, south London.

Police found two phones and a rusty hammer in shocking footage on the platform.

This year alone, Ivan has won the British Open 2025, NAGA London 2025 and IBJJF London Fall Open 2025 in the black belt adult division.

Nothing was actually said about the two lads who attempted to help, so well done to them as well. We all need an Ivan, so respect to him and the two lads who attempted to intervene – we need more courageous men like these. It’s also nice to see that there are men out there who are able to protect women.

Unfortunately, our police force lacks the necessary training and resources to effectively combat crime.

Since our streets are no longer safe, females should be taught self-defence in schools, and I dread to think what would have happened to the girl if the two lads and Ivan hadn’t stepped in to protect her.

Home Office Acknowledges 170 ‘Dangerous’ Foreign Nationals Living In Britain Under Restrictions

Dozens of ‘dangerous’ foreign nationals are being allowed to keep living in the UK as the Home Office cannot deport them due to human rights laws.

Some 170 people who pose a threat to public safety are currently being housed under restrictions across the country, according to government documents.

And more than half of these people are said to ‘have been involved in terrorism or extremism-related activities’.

It is understood that some of the restrictions imposed on foreign nationals may include 24-hour surveillance and the wearing of an ankle monitor.

However, it is not clear precisely what measures are in force and how many of the security threats cannot be booted out.

Foreign criminals and unsuccessful asylum applicants are currently escaping deportation back to their native countries by claiming the right to a family life.

This right is set out under Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights, of which the UK remains a member.

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood has pledged stricter immigration regulations and a revision of human rights legislation.

But in light of the most recent findings in a Government Equality Impact Assessment on the Border Security, Asylum, and Immigration Bill, there are demands for Labour to go further.

The document reads: ‘Provisions for imposing conditions on immigration leave where a foreign national poses a threat to the public but cannot be removed from the UK may be more likely to affect certain age groups.

‘The conditions provided for by the measures will only be used in a very low number of cases involving conduct such as war crimes, crimes against humanity, extremism, serious crime or where the person poses a threat to national security or public safety.

‘At the time of this EIA, around 170 people are currently on restricted leave, with over half having been involved in terrorism or extremism-related activities.’

A Home Office minister told the Sunday Express that it was ‘disgraceful’ that dangerous foreign nationals have been allowed to stay in the UK.

Border Security and Asylum Minister Alex Norris said: ‘It is disgraceful that terrorists have been able to stay in the UK under previous rules. Our new laws will place strict restrictions on foreign nationals who pose a threat, tracking their every move.

‘These laws will also enable us to get terrorists rapidly deported from British soil and keep our country safe.’

However, the discoveries have rekindled demands for the UK to withdraw from the European Convention on Human Rights and for human rights legislation to be revised.

Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick said: ‘Our broken borders are a national security emergency. We have to leave the ECHR and deport every single one of these terrorists and extremists.

‘This government is clueless as to how bad the problem is and how to fix it.’

Meanwhile, Reform UK leader Nigel Farage added that the Labour government is ‘filled to the brim with woke human rights lawyers’.

He said Sir Keir Starmer’s administration is ‘prioritising’ a court in Strasbourg over the British people.

This comes as it was revealed this week that ministers are unaware of the number of undocumented immigrants in Britain or the number who use human rights legislation to evade deportation.

When foreign terrorists enjoy more human rights than the nation’s own residents, and politicians have been doing nothing for years while ignoring all the warnings, something is seriously wrong.

How much does all this monitoring cost on top of this security risk?

So, it is said that there are 170 that they actually know of, so how many more are free to plot crimes against our country? The UK is beyond a joke, and it’s going to get a lot worse if Labour are allowed to remain in power.

If you are a migrant in the UK and you break the law, you should immediately lose any rights you may have to stay in the country, regardless of your circumstances.

They talk about the human rights of migrants, but what about the human rights of the people who were born in the UK? They’re in danger too? We all have a right to be safe, but not in the UK, it seems – the perpetrators always have more rights than their victims.

Major DIY Chain Accused Of Banning Workers From Decorating The Shop Floor For Christmas

Major DIY chain Screwfix has banned staff from putting up Christmas decorations on shop floors, according to reports.

Workers are said to have been told this week they can only put up tinsel and baubles where they won’t be visible to customers, such as in staff rooms.

A source told The Sun: ‘It was a decision taken by head office. We don’t understand why. It feels a bit like Scrooge.

‘Staff aren’t happy. We’ve put up decorations in the past.

‘We can have them up in staff areas as long as customers can’t see them.’

Screwfix has insisted, however, that it is still getting in the festive spirit this December.

A spokesperson for the company said: ‘Our colleagues are wearing Christmas jumpers and we have the Screwfix Christmas jumper and socks for our customers to buy.’

They added: ‘As with previous years, our teams are able to decorate their staff rooms.’

It comes after HSBC took a similar action, prohibiting employees from donning Christmas jumpers for fear of upsetting struggling bank clients over the holiday season.

After concerns were voiced by those who believed that employees wearing Christmas attire did not live up to professional standards, managers issued guidelines.

Situations such as when customers were in a branch to discuss financial matters or report a bereavement were mentioned among those in which sensitive and smart wear was considered more suitable.

However, managers at HSBC continue to urge employees to decorate branches since they believe there is less chance of insensitivity than jumpers.

A spokesperson said: ‘We are encouraging colleagues to celebrate Christmas in branches in lots of different ways, including decorating branches, team celebrations and festive lunches.

‘However, it’s important to also remember that branches are spaces where customers receive a range of specialist services that require professionalism and sensitivity.

‘This year, we have asked colleagues in customer-facing roles not to wear Christmas jumpers to reflect this.’

When it was revealed last month that Tesco had renamed Christmas trees “evergreen trees,” there was even more indignation.

The supermarket giant is selling the 6.5ft ‘Luxury Evergreen Tree’ at £60 on its website and in-store.

The move caused numerous Brits to vent their outrage on social media, with the move being branded as ‘woke nonsense’.

Susan Hall, leader of the Conservatives in the London Assembly, was vocal about her thoughts, writing on X: ‘Wretched ridiculous nonsense, call it what it is, it’s a Christmas tree.

‘There, I said it out loud. I’m fed up with all this woke stupidity.’

Olympic medalist, Sharron Davies, called it ‘a bit silly’, saying on the social media platform: ‘It’s a Christmas tree that people put up at Christmas to celebrate Christmas!’

Tesco told the Daily Mail: ‘We are at Tesco and have a range of real and artificial Christmas trees in store as part of a wide selection of Christmas products to help our customers celebrate Christmas this year.’

It said it is called an ‘evergreen tree’ to make it clear the type of Christmas tree inside the box.

Is this only one more act of surrender on the clear path to total cultural collapse?

We know why it’s done, but the reasoning to me is vague. Who determined that it was time to transform our country forever and eradicate our culture and history?

The dinghy invaders are officially taking over the UK, and without firing a single shot, they would like to express their gratitude to our government and DWP for providing them with a warm welcome package that included free food, clothing, lodging, and money. They also treated them like kings, and our government complied with their request.

Sounds like Screwfix has a Screwloose. Oh well, another shop to boycott.

Keir Starmer Shouldn’t Fear Wes Streeting – It’s Angela Rayner He Needs To Worry About

Former Tory cabinet minister Michael Gove said that Angela Rayner would never play “the role of political girlfriend to Wes Streeting” to assist him win a leadership challenge because she is more likely to succeed than he is.

With rumours rife of a potential Streeting-Rayner pact to take on the Prime Minister in a leadership challenge, Lord Gove said he believed the former Deputy Prime Minister was ‘in a better position’ than Streeting to take down Sir Keir Starmer.

He also said he believed that leadership frontrunner Ed Miliband was ‘unlikely to run for leadership again’, although he is a favourite with Labour Party members in any battle for a replacement for Starmer.

The Telegraph reported that MPs close to Mr Streeting had approached Ms Rayner about the prospect of a pact.

Speaking to BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, Lord Gove, now Editor of the Spectator magazine, said recent political ‘over manoeuvring’ was ‘a sure sign of decline for the Prime Minister’ and was ‘déjà vu for me when I was a Tory cabinet minister’.

Lord Gove, who served in cabinet roles across the governments of David Cameron, Theresa May, Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak, witnessing multiple leadership challenges, said the Health Minister had ‘done very well at the Labour Party conference by invoking Angela Rayner and praising her and also on issues like Gaza tacked a little bit to the left in order to maximise his appeal’.

But he warned: ‘I think that Wes Streeting is mistaken if he thinks that Angela Rayner is going to play essentially the role of political girlfriend to his ambitions because I actually think that Angela Rayner is in a better position than Wes Streeting to win any leadership election.

‘The idea that just because she’s had the difficulties she did over tax that she is going to meekly accept Wes Streeting as her route back to respectability – I don’t think she will accept.’

And ruling out Miliband as a leadership contender, he agreed he was way ahead in the polls but said: ‘I don’t think he would want to go for the leadership again, although he is undoubtedly very popular because he has a clear sense of mission in the role in which he occupies as Energy Secretary.’

Meanwhile, the Editor of the left-leaning New Statesman magazine, Tom McTague, said he did not think that Wes Streeting was expecting ‘Angela Rayner to lie down or let him take the crown without something of a battle’.

He said: ‘I think they are all eyeing each other quite carefully at the moment and they are not taking each other’s side.’

But he warned that it was now ‘the standard conventional wisdom of Labour MPs and Labour cabinet members’ that a leadership challenge was imminent.

He said: ‘There is a certain sense of a breakdown of order and direction in this government, so we are seeing people freelance and saying what their ideas are, and we are starting to see positioning ahead of what looks increasingly like an inevitable leadership challenge and election next year.

Angela Rayner would be a complete disaster for our nation and the end of the road for Labour; therefore, I really hope that she is not anyone’s dream candidate.

How can someone as ignorant and crass as Angela Rayner be the leader of the UK – it’s mindbending.

What a choice: Wes Streeting or Angela Rayner! They are all equally intellectually inept, and I have never detested a Prime Minister as much as this lifeless biscuit, appeasing, cowardly traitor to the UK. Someone please get him out.

Angela Rayner should never be Prime Minister; come to that, she shouldn’t even be a Member of Parliament, and the thought of her in No 10 Downing Street would provoke chaos in the streets.

Should Facial Recognition Be Used Countrywide In Britain?

With plans to install cameras in UK cities, towns, and even villages, the government is looking to increase police use of face recognition technology to combat crime.

Ministers are looking into new laws about the use of the technology to pave the way for a major expansion, putting cameras in every police force area.

A ten-week consultation is being launched that will ask for the public’s thoughts on how the technology should be regulated and how to protect people’s privacy.

The Government also wants a regulator to control police use of facial recognition, biometrics and other tools and is gathering ideas on what powers it should have.

But critics have hit out at the ‘dystopian’ plan, noting concern at the ‘erosion of civil liberties’ after a string of controversial reforms by Labour.

Now, you can vote in the Daily Mail’s latest poll on whether you back a UK-wide rollout of the technology.

I can’t believe that so many people think this is a good idea.

Look at what’s happening – ID cards, facial recognition in every town, and denied trial by jury. This is dictatorial communism – You will be watched, and bank accounts will ultimately be frozen for petty offences – You should be frightened.

If it were just used to capture criminals, then I would not mind, but we all know that the system will be linked to the ID cards and every other service – health, tax, pensions, et cetera. We also know that the present government are gradually taking away more and more personal choices and ultimately wants full control of the population, so no, I would not want this additional surveillance rolled out. I find it rather ominous the way things are going.

Some might say that facial recognition is nothing to fret about if you haven’t done anything bad, then you’ve got nothing to worry about, but then there are the implications of them using your image that people might be worried about, but if you spin the coin you have to think about the number of people who have social media accounts that could be hacked for your information.

One by one, our freedoms are being stripped away by the state, and you can’t treat everyone as though they’re guilty until proven innocent. And for facial recognition to work, our government would have to ban all face coverings, or it won’t work.
