No Laughing Matter

Canisters of substance, also known as laughing gas, are being seen across beauty spots, with teenagers using them for a fix.

The rise in the number of discarded canisters being found has promoted political leaders to necessitate more stringent restrictions and more imposing punishment for those who traffic them.

Concerns have been raised directly with Home Secretary Priti Patel, and leaders have called on parents of teenagers to talk to their loved ones and make them understand the gravity of the problem, which in extreme cases can be deadly.

West Midlands Police chiefs have also called for raised awareness of the substance, with bosses forming a partnership with Dudley Council to crack down on the problem.

Discarded silver canisters have been seen dotted across parks and open land in the region, with some regions more prevalent in the use than others.

Jane Stevenson, MP for Wolverhampton North East, said she had raised the matter with the Government after becoming especially concerned over the number of canisters.

And she said that she knows many parents in Wolverhampton are concerned about the growing use of Nitrous Oxide by young people and that she’s raised those concerns with the Home Secretary directly.

She further said that throughout lockdown, that their parks and streets had been littered with the discarded silver canisters that the gas is sold in.

There’s also the problem that children are able to access this possibly life-threatening psychoactive drug and it must be addressed, although the Government has already shut down retailers found selling it illegally.

However, more needs to be done, and Jane Stevenson said that she will work with ministers to ensure that this is the case, but that she’s very concerned about the number of canisters she sees around the capital, particularly when they’re on the roadside, having been thrown out of car windows, and that nobody should be putting their lives in danger.

In Dudley, council chiefs are working alongside West Midlands Police as part of the ‘No Laughing Matter’ campaign in an attempt to raise awareness of the problem and to encourage others to report the activity.

Constant use of transparent gas can lead to an increased heart rate, swelling on the brain, nerve impairment and anaemia, as well as throat and lung damage.

It slows a person’s brain and body responses down and can lead to them becoming unconscious, or suffocating from a lack of oxygen and about five people in the United Kingdom die a year from inhaling the drug.

This drug is clearly too easy to obtain and should, of course, be rigorously controlled, although it will still be sold because there’s money to be made from it.

That doesn’t mean we can’t reach out to young people so that we can try to educate them and help them understand that it’s okay to say no to drugs and it’s not only in Wolverhampton, residents said that antisocial behaviour linked to taking Nitrous Oxide, otherwise known as laughing gas had become a significant concern in Tower Hamlets, London.

And the council and Tower Hamlets Homes have received grievances from local people who find it threatening seeing crowds of people taking Nitrous Oxide, which further causes a noise problem and the small metal canisters that contain it are frequently left on the floor as litter.

And even though the gas was previously a legal high, it’s now illegal to supply or import Nitrous Oxide for personal use and to crack down on antisocial behaviour including the use of Nitrous Oxide, the council is paying for 14 new police officers to patrol the housing estates operated by Tower Hamlets Homes.

Girl, 12, Pronounced Dead Comes Back To Life

The family of a 12-year-old girl who was pronounced dead were left dumbfounded when she woke as they washed her body for her funeral.

The girl, named as Siti Masfufah Wardah, was admitted to a hospital in Probeolinggo in Indonesia province of East Java for chronic diabetes and organ complications on August 18. She was then declared dead at 6 pm the same day.

Her body was taken to her home at 7 pm so that family members could clean it and begin the funeral procedures.

Loved ones were about to wash the girl’s body when she abruptly woke up again, according to her father.

The dad, identified only as 40-year-old Ngasiyo, said that when her body was being washed, her body temperature quickly warmed and her closed eyes suddenly opened and they found that her heart was beating again and her body moved.

The girl was taken back into the house and doctors were called to the scene where medics helped the girl with respiratory assistance and oxygen, but she reportedly passed away again an hour later.

So-called corpse revival is also known as Lazarus syndrome or return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) which happens in patients who have died of heart failure.

According to medical reports, 82 per cent of ROSC incidents transpire after ten minutes a person is confirmed dead after being given respiratory aid and after her death was confirmed a second time, Siti’s body was washed again and buried in the Lambangkuning Village Cemetery.

Lumbang Police Chief AKP Muhammad Dugel confirmed the incident and he also attended the scene and said the investigation was ongoing.

He added that it was true that there had been an incident where the girl died and came back to life, after previously being treated at the Dr Mochamad Saleh Regional Hospital and that when she was washed her body came back to life and for about an hour she was alive and then died again.

Approximately 90 per cent of the population in Indonesia is Muslim, and as part of the Islamic funeral rites, it’s the duty of the family to wash the body according to a particular custom prescribed for washing the body of the dead.

But what a traumatic experience this must have been for the family and what a painful ordeal to have to go through twice. However, this is not the first incident, in Karachi, a woman was declared dead at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and miraculously came back to life while being given a funeral bath.

According to the woman’s family, 50-year-old Rasheeda Bibi was moved to the public hospital, where doctors not only declared her dead but also issued a death certificate.

Her body had been shifted to the morgue for 20 minutes and her family began giving her a funeral bath.

A woman that was present in the room noticed her limbs moving when they quickly checked her pulse to find she was still breathing – the woman had already been covered in a funeral shroud by the time she was found alive – Rasheeda was then moved to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

Back in 2015, workers at an Edhi mortuary in Karachi were also were given a rude awakening when a pregnant woman, who was being prepared for burial, abruptly sat up and began reciting the Kalma.

Manzoora Bibi was also being given a funeral bath when she got up and took everyone by surprise.

Mum Says Garage Didn’t Tell Her Of £6,900 Balloon Payment

A mum maintains she can no longer afford to pay for her new vehicle after a garage neglected to tell her about a mountainous £6,900 balloon payment.

Jillie Stross bought her Dacia Duster SE Twenty from Wessex Garages in Newport, Wales last month because she needed more space to fit in her mobility scooter.

The pub proprietress has arthritis and needs the scooter to help her to look after her children, including her 12-year-old autistic son.

Jillie, who manages a pub in Merthyr, originally thought she was just taking a test drive but only realised afterwards that she was buying the vehicle.

After agreeing to pay £198 per month, she maintains she was not told about a further balloon payment at the end of the deal until it was too late.

Jillie said she was asked by the rep how did £198 per month sound?

She thought it was a tad more than she wanted to spend but it was fine, and she was told when she went into the office that because of the COVID 19 they couldn’t go through paperwork and was asked to sign electronically.

She said that she believed she was signing up for a test drive at the time and only realised afterwards she was actually buying the vehicle.

Jillie said she went through with the purchase as she needed a vehicle which could comfortably fit her mobility scooter.

On July 28, she picked up the Dacia Duster and rode home but something didn’t seem right, so she rang them up about 48 hours later and asked if it was really £198 per month and they said yes, and then hesitated and said, and the balloon payment.

Two reps then told her that their co-worker would have notified her about the balloon payment, and she added they were both saying the other would have told her about it when she was buying it, but no one did.

Jillie was left aghast when she found out that the balloon payment needed at the end would be £6,900.

She said that she’s been onto both the finance company and the dealer and was told there was nothing wrong, that she’d signed the papers and agreed to everything.

She informed them that they said she couldn’t go through the actual paperwork due to COVID 19 and so she never actually saw it before signing and that she was never even shown the screen at the time or anything.

Now she feels like a fool and she’s kicking herself for not insisting on seeing it at the time, but she trusted them and she believes that she was deceived and that they were using COVID 19 to make a sale.

However, whether she rushed into her agreement or she signed for something she wasn’t supposed to, she should be able to cancel her car finance agreement for up to 14 days after she signed on the dotted line, this is known as the cooling-off period, and she should have been informed of this, but probably wasn’t.

Okay so the lady wasn’t very bright, and perhaps you can’t sign the paperwork, so what they should have done was send it to her to read and sign, and how did she get confused between a test drive and a purchase?

Usually, you would go to the showroom, pick a vehicle and then ask if you could take it on a test drive before anything else. There should be no paper signing to take a car for a test drive because the rep usually goes with you.

Test driving a car is an essential part of the buying process, but it’s easy to go wrong.

Once you’ve settled on the make and model of the car you want to buy, an important step in the purchasing process is taking one for a test drive but it’s pretty easy during the excitement of a test drive to sideline some useful aspects of the experience and you might end up overlooking some of its shortcomings.

Couple this with adroit salespeople trying to convince you the vehicle you’re driving is the ideal one for you, and a test drive can become an overwhelming exercise.

Most importantly, remember that you’re in control because buying a car is the second most costly purchase most of us will ever make in our lifetime, so it’s essential to be content with what you buy, and as long as you haven’t paid anything towards the car, you’re free to walk away at any time.

Test drives can operate in various ways. At some dealerships an employee there will accompany you when you drive the vehicle you’re thinking of purchasing. Other places may allow you to go out alone in the car, or you might even do a mixture of both.

A balloon payment is a lump sum settled at the end of the term of the loan that is significantly greater than all of the payments made before it.

On instalment loans without a balloon option, a set of fixed payment are made to pay down the loan’s balance.

Balloon payments enable borrowers to reduce that fixed payment amount in exchange for making a more substantial payment at the end of the loan’s term and Jillie Stross should have been told this because in general, these loans are good for borrowers who have excellent credit and a substantial income.

She could, of course, sell the vehicle before the balloon payment is due, but that’s precarious because a car is a depreciating asset or she could take out another loan to pay off the balloon payment, but by that time, she will probably owe more than the car is worth.

Firms Linked To Tories Have Won £500 Million Coronavirus Contracts

Firms linked to Tories have won £500 million coronavirus contracts without having to bid.

Labour said at least thirteen companies got the contract with no competitive tendering as companies with links to the Conservatives doing well out of publicly financed projects.

Firms linked to the Tory Party have won almost £500 million in pandemic contracts without having to bid and Shadow Cabinet Office minister Rachel Reeves said that there has been a disturbing pattern of companies with links to projects throughout this pandemic.

People want their governments to use public money fairly and they don’t expect contracts to end up with minister’s mates and Rachel Reeves said that she’s demanding an independent inquiry.

One firm, Randox, received £133 million for COVID testing.

It pays Tory MP and former Cabinet minister Owen Paterson £8,333 a month as an adviser and earlier this month, 750,000 unused Randox testing kits were recalled over safety concerns.

Serco is paid £108 million for running the national contact-tracing service and almost £46 million by the DWP to run call centres.

Health minister Edward Argar was a senior executive and boss Rupert Soames is the brother of former Tory MP Sir Nicholas Soames.

In November 2019, Rupert Soame’s wife Camilla donated £4,995 to the Tory Party.

PricewaterhouseCoopers, which won seven contracts, hired Theresa May’s former top aide Gavin Barwell as a strategic adviser in January. He is also a non-executive adviser at Arcadis, which was awarded a £1.5 million consultancy contract with the Ministry of Justice in April.

Public First Limited gets £840,000 to run focus groups for No 10. It’s owned by James Frayne, who started the New Frontiers think tank in 2003 with Dominic Cummings.

Dragontown Limited was given a contract worth £675,000 to supply PPE to London’s Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

Lady Xuelin Bates, a director of this firm, is the wife of Tory peer and former minister Lord Bates and has given £30,000 to the Tories.

It seems that birds of a feather flock together and seems to always occur when the Tories are in control, and even when other parties are in power.

And if these firms were the best available at the time, then there’s no problem, but clearly, if they were given an advantage over other firms then the award should be looked into and any wrongdoing dispensed with.

The only dilemma is that nobody else got a look in and the process wasn’t put out to tender, they were given straight over to these firms and the truth is that people have thrown tax money to friends which will cost all the small people in the long run.

Every day we find out how defective this government is but the media won’t publicise this because they’re equally as rotten and we need to demand a general election now and a call for a no-confidence vote.

We look and sneer at Vladamir Putin’s depravity and Donald Trump’s depravity and yet on our own doorstep, under our watch, we’re letting swine banging Etonians strip the soul out of this country and then blame it on the people.

The harsh fact of the matter is that the problem has never been EU membership, immigration, bankers, benefit cheats or any other scapegoat that they choose to postulate as our adversary.

The problem that society has right now is that those who are in control across the globe are more concerned with keeping that power and topping up their bank balance than actually sitting down and focusing on how to resolve the problems of the world.

Meghan Markle and Harry Help Kids

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry gave out nappies and helped kids try on school rucksacks at a drive-thru charity event near their new LA mansion.

The couple wore face masks as they joined other volunteers at a charity Baby2Baby, which gives essential necessities for families in need and pictures show the couple handing supplies to people through car windows at Dr Owen Lloyd Knox Elementary School in South Los Angeles on Wednesday.

Both looked informal, with Meghan Markle wearing loose khaki shorts and a white shirt while Harry opted for brown shorts, a white polo shirt and a baseball hat.

A source said everyone was in great spirits and the kids were excited to receive their books and supplies and Meghan and Harry did what they do best, engage and connect with the masses.

Meghan and Harry also conversed with the parents and children who looked to see the special royal guests.

The volunteering came after it surfaced the couple had bought an £11 million mansion in the celeb hotspot of Santa Barbara.

They moved out of movie producer Tyler Perry’s Los Angeles home in July, purchasing the nine-bedroom property after taking out a £7.25 million mortgage as well as getting some monetary aid from Prince Charles.

The couple had been house hunting for some time after relocating to the US from Canada just before the coronavirus lockdown and they’ve settled on Montecito, which is where a number of their celeb friends including Ellen DeGeneres and Ophrah live.

A source said that Harry and Meghan have been quietly living in their new home for about six weeks and that this is where they want to continue their lives after leaving the United Kingdom and that this is the first place either of them has ever owned and it’s a pretty special time for them as a couple and as a family.

Meghan Markle talked candidly about voting ahead of the US presidential election, making a surprise guest appearance at Michelle Obama’s ‘When All Women Vote’ online event.

She told fellow American women that if you’re complacent, you’re complicit, during her video message, and described voting as being part of a legacy.

The former US First Lady’s organisation intends to improve participation in elections and to end the race and age voting gap by transforming the culture around voting and speaking from her Los Angeles home, Meghan said: “We can make a difference in this election and we will make the difference in this election”.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have now stepped down from their royal responsibilities. They’re now living in Los Angeles and pursuing passion projects and they’re doing so without the help from the Queen and when they gave up their titles, they also gave up a sovereign grant given by the treasury.

Now, they’re paying back the sovereign grant for the $3 million, taxpayer-funded restoration of Frogmore Cottage, where they previously lived and their lifestyle isn’t sustained by the crown anymore, but they never had to rely solely on the crown anyhow.

Meghan and Harry are expected to still get funds from the Duchy of Cornwall, a private fund administered by Prince Charles, which amounts to £2.3 million ($3 million) a year.

Before marrying Prince Harry, Meghan Markle was earning close to half a million dollars a year starring in the USA Network drama ‘Suits’, plus a five-figure income from endorsement deals and sponsorships announced in 2018 to be the total net worth which was calculated at $5 million.

Mum Confused After Being Hit With Most Unrelenting Parking Ticket Ever

A family visiting a tourism beauty spot were puzzled to find themselves with a parking ticket for the tiniest of blunders and they were horrified to discover a parking ticket slapped on their car minutes after leaving it in a Devon car park because one of the wheels was barely inches over the white line.

Rebecca Edge, a teaching assistant from Teignmouth, was out with her three-year-old twins Teddy and Peggy in Cockington, South Devon when she got hit by the fine.

She alleges she managed to squeeze her vehicle into a tightly packed car park just off Cockington Lane near the Rose Cottage Tea Room.

On her return, she found a ticket had been written only minutes after she left her car, initially to her total bemusement and at first, she couldn’t work out why she had been given the ticket and it was only after taking photos she understood what it was for.

It was absurd. It’s a really compact car park anyhow with loads of other vehicles and when you have children in big child seats, it’s not easy getting them in and out in a confined space.

She saw other larger vehicles getting tickets as well, so it wasn’t just her. She said that if one of the wheels had been completely over the line then she could have understood it, but this was only a few inches and that it was very petty because it had been written out minutes after she parked the car, so she couldn’t help but think they were watching all the time.

Rebecca Edge said that she’s already contested the ticket and she further said it was a shame as she’d intended to go for lunch with her children at the nearby pub, however, the parking ticket forced her to rethink her plans.

She said they were going to do their bit and support the local economy by dining in the pub afterwards, but they didn’t after getting a £50 parking ticket, which means that now the local economy has missed out on that little bit of additional help.

She said that she’s appealed it and might even take it to court if they reject it as she feels really strongly about it.

The thing about the law is it’s pretty black and white and there are no ifs and buts, no grey zones and as far as they’re concerned the law was broken, so these petty rules apply and a ticket was issued.

And there’s seemingly no way she will win in court because as far as they’re concerned she did violate the parking rules and this country loves to punish and criminalise, there’s very little understanding and the income from these penalties appear to be more important to the local council than the financial hardship it causes to people.

And these money-grabbing fools employ these loafers to get money for the council coffers and the best thing to do is to avoid places like Cockington.

Boris Johnson Cuts Short Holiday

Boris Johnson has cut his Scotland holiday short after the place where he was staying with his family was leaked.

The Prime Minister is said to have gathered up his tent and returned home after images of him in a secluded Scottish location was published.

Boris Johnson had taken his fiancee Carrie Symonds and their baby Wilfred away for a few days but after photos of his Highland cottage and tent were revealed, the Prime Minister reportedly cut his family trip short and returned home.

Boris Johnson faced calls to return from the scheduled trip amid the huge crisis over exam results, on which he is yet to comment.

Bodyguards allegedly raised concerns over safety, so Boris Johnson and his family chose to leave after only three days and a source said they’d been camping in the garden of the cottage but the security threat was too much.

The tent could be spotted by a sharpshooter from too far away for them to stay after the location was published.

Downing Street had made no secret of Boris Johnson’s plans to take leave with the 32-year-old mum of his new son, but the couple were hunted down by a media outlet to a three-bedroom cottage and tent set up on the Scottish coast, where they were tucked away with baby Wilfred and dog Dilyn.

The images captured a fashionable teepee style calico tent about 50 yards from the cottage and a sightseer who reportedly saw the Prime Minister’s family said it simply looked like any other ordinary family day out.

However, angry landowner Kenny Cameron claimed Boris Johnson and his family set up their tent on his property without authorisation, possibly believing the 20-acre field was part of their rented coastal cottage, which has views over the islands of Rona and Raasay.

He further believed they used the chairs from the home to build a makeshift stile to climb over a three-foot wire fence and sheep farmer Kenny Cameron told a media outlet that Boris Johnson is meant to be leading the country and yet he’s not setting a great example.

And that normally if people want to go inside a fenced area they ask for permission first, but that he was not asked at all and that Boris Johnson could have put his tent up in the garden of the cottage and there would have been no problem, but that he didn’t do that.

Looking at the images of Boris Johnson, he does look like a bit of a dunce, look at the state of him in his beanie hat, and he’s supposed to be our Prime Minister, but really, he doesn’t need to be wearing the beanie hat to look like the village idiot.

Or did Boris Johnson return home because he’d had enough of slumming it, so decided to get back to the indulgence he’s so used to?

But poor Boris Johnson really did deserve to have a tranquil holiday, after all that hard blundering about doing absolutely nothing useful and we would love to see the images of Boris Johnson gathering up his tent.

The United Kingdom Heading Back Into Lockdown Next Month

Britain could be heading for complete lockdown again by the end of the month and the Prime Minister must act now to stop it.

Sir David King said that we require a decent test and trace system by September, otherwise, full school opening will put us right back and he said that we’re nowhere near the safe reopening of schools.

And he’s urging Boris Johnson to get it right in August or risk a second wave of the coronavirus infection and he blasted the Government’s track and trace system as disastrous.

Sir David King, 80, oversees the Independent Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies shadowing the Prime Minister’s scientific team.

He said the Government has a month to deal with the level of infectivity as it stands now and opening of schools should be a priority but believes we’re nowhere near the point where it can be done safely.

He said the R rate of infection number is anticipated to climb by about 0.5 with all schools open.

On Friday, government figures revealed the national rate as between 0.8 and 1 – the tipping point – as infections increase again and we will see the Government support lockdowns and this could happen nationwide.

Sir David King, who set up Independent SAGE amid concerns about political restraint on the official advisory committee said test and trace is still failing dramatically.

Tracing is one phone call and you’re asked to quarantine. There’s no follow up as to whether people do and he advised the Prime Minister to take track and trace from private firm Serco and to let councils run it.

He said that the Government made a calamitous blunder giving contact tracing to a firm with no healthcare expertise.

The Serco contract is up for renewal and they’ve had approximately £100 million so far, they’ll get £300 million if it’s extended and when you hit 3,000 new cases a day, it’s a huge number for any national body to deal with, but break it down into local regions and the numbers become manageable.

Sir David King said the Government should follow other countries and put isolating members of multi-generational households in hotels to circumvent contaminating relatives.

Official figures reveal UK cases have hit 309,763, with 46,566 deaths. WHO figures show 19,187,943 confirmed cases worldwide and 716,075 deaths.

Tighter lockdown restrictions and social distancing measures in the US, Hong Kong, the Philippines and other countries are being reimposed and the Academy of Medical Sciences has predicted up to 120,000 people here could die of COVID 19 this winter.

Perhaps we should be more inclined to believe reports from scientists based on evidence than the Government who have half-heartedly made out they’re trying to help us when actually they don’t seem to have a clue how to control this pandemic and the effects of it.

All they seem to be interested in is the economic impact than preserving human life and what is morally right and when the Tories have lost loved ones to COVID and lost their livelihoods with no support or afterthought, then they can tell those people that what’s happening to our country is in everyone’s best interest.

Boris Johnson Breaks Cover On A Glamping Holiday

Brits are wondering where their Prime Minister had gone as the United Kingdom is smitten with a coronavirus pandemic, a recession and exam turmoil finally have an answer.

The leader has been located on a glamping holiday with fiancee Carrie Symonds in Scotland as Brit’s own summer holidays abroad are put in danger by yet another round of eleventh-hour quarantine announcements, but Boris Johnson opted for a staycation.

His absence has raised eyebrows in recent days as his deputies deal with the fallout over the school exams grading embarrassment.

Downing Street had made no secret of Boris Johnson’s plans to take a holiday with the 32-year-old mother of his new offspring and the couple were hunted down to a three-bedroom cottage and tent set up on the Scottish coast, where they are tucked away with baby Wilfred and canine Dilyn.

The precise location of the cottage – speculated to have been chosen for its remoteness, has not been published.

The Prime Minister was pictured grimacing in a seersucker shirt and black beanie as shutterbugs caught him ducking outside the windswept hillside property.

The photographers captured a contemporary teepee style calico tent about 50 yards from the cottage and according to a media outlet, it costs more than £1,500 a week to rent the plum spot during the summer peak.

One holidaymaker reportedly crossed paths with the Tory leader on a hiking trail in the area on Wednesday and he said that he recognised the Prime Minister despite his face being covered by a special hat to shield against Scotland’s midges.

His security detail, dog Dilyn and fiancee Carrie Symonds were instantly recognisable, the hiker said. The tourist said it just looked like any other normal family day out.

But the holiday spot is a far cry from the couple’s previous choice of Mustique, where the Prime Minister and his love chose the luxury Caribbean retreat for their New Year’s break.

The under-fire leader did work throughout during the parliamentary summer recess period before taking his holiday and split from convention by taking a holiday away from the limelight, unlike previous Prime Ministers including David Cameron and Theresa May, who have allowed media to photograph their summer breaks.

Reports had claimed that Boris Johnson would spend his summer holiday camping and No 10 had insisted he would be kept briefed on the exams saga while he was on holiday.

But as a Prime Minister for a country currently being run down, Boris Johnson needs to take charge and be responsible for his country, the holiday could have waited and what about the thousands that have died due to Torie’s ineptitude, they won’t be getting any more holidays, full stop.

What’s he hiding in the fridge again, no he’s mimicked Theresa May this time and taken to the fields and I wonder who’s footing the extra security bill?

And what is he doing exactly? Exam debacle, thousands dead before their time, millions wasted on cronies, non-arrival of PPE and a co-worker he won’t fire even though he’s under enquiry for a rape charge.

Brexit negotiations are in turmoil, thousands of jobs are being lost every day, what a magnificent job he’s doing there and the leading MPs et cetera are getting longer holidays than the rest of the country.

Man Who Killed Arsenal Supporter

A man who stabbed an Arsenal supporter to death as he headed to a game with his friend has been imprisoned for life.

Alex Lanning, 22, has been jailed at the Old Bailey with a minimum term of 25 years for the murder of gifted athlete Tashan Daniel, who was fatally stabbed at Hillingdon station, west London.

His co-defendant Jonathan Camille, 19, was imprisoned for six and a half years after being convicted of a lesser charge of manslaughter.

Tashan Daniel was travelling to an Arsenal league cup game with a friend when he was stabbed in the heart. Alex Lanning was later seen laughing as he fled the scene.

Sprinter Tashan Daniel had only recently celebrated his 20th birthday, died at the station.

Alex Lanning stabbed Tashan Daniel with a knife which had a serrated edge and a hook and was designed to be used by fighter pilots to cut the tough Perspex glass out of jets. Alex Lanning alleged in court he’d stolen the blade from the set of the Fast & Furious films.

Jailing Alex Lanning for life with a minimum term of 25 years for the killing of Tashan Daniel and his co-defendant Jonathan Camille for six and a half years for manslaughter, Judge Mark Dennis QC said that this was a disgraceful display of violence for which there was no possible justification or excuse.

“You are both comparatively young men however you are both old enough and mature enough to know what you were doing and to make your own choices.”

Judge Mark Dennis, QC said the assault took place on a station platform and in the presence of members of the public who were shocked and frightened by the violence that occurred close to them.

The offenders fled from the scene and made attempts to avoid apprehension. They encased their heads in clothes stolen from nearby clotheslines and hid the knife.

“It is plain these events had a profound and lasting effect on Tashan’s family and those who knew him as a friend.

“This was a dreadful display of violence for which there was no possible justification or excuse.

“Alex Lanning, your reaction after the event reveals no sense of regret for the person you had just stabbed to the chest.

“Twice you were seen laughing as if what you had just done meant nothing to you.”

Nobody carries that kind of knife on them, especially that particular knife, not unless they’re planning on using it to stab somebody, and why would a person have such a knife on them?

Now a lovely young man is dead because someone thought it was funny to do so and found it entertaining as well and this despicable person should have got a much longer sentence.

And if a person is going to take another life, then they should be imprisoned for life and should never be permitted to wander the streets again. Life should mean life, not part sentencing and then out of jail, discharged on tag or probation for the remainder of their sentence.

If a person carries a knife, it’s with purpose and this is really sad. Sadly, because we live in a pretty precarious society, now many people carry knives because they don’t feel safe, but then there is the percentage that carries them because they plan to kill with them.

Life should mean life without parole or until they die, it’s the only way and some might say that capital punishment is the way to go, but that doesn’t always work either, America has demonstrated that.

And it’s so sad and Tashan Daniel’s family will never get over his death, and we should never understand the mentality of people like this. It doesn’t matter if you’re black or white, this was a life, and clearly, this never had anything to do with what football team Tashan supported, Alex Lanning was there for one thing and one thing only and that was to kill on that particular day.
